Uco Bank — non functioning of international debit card

I along with my family members are having more than ten different types of account in the uco bank, delhi high court branch, delhi for last more than 15 years. I am also having international debit card (Visa) issued by above branch.

In may 2019, i had to go for vacations along with my family members to europe and dubai. Before leaving delhi, i made enquiries from the bank that my international debit card would operate abroad and was assured that it would.

On 14th june, 2019 i presented the same at the cheese cake factory, dubai mall, dubai at around 6.35 p. M. (Local time) for bill amounting to aed 212.10. However, the debit card transactions failed twice with the reasons "invalid transaction". I suffered great embarrassment as well as great humiliation in front of my hosts and my family members. At that time more than sufficient amount was available in my savings account.

Thus, due to above act of your bank which amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practices as despite having sufficient funds in my account, the transaction failed.

Therefore, i hereby call upon you to suitably compensate me for deficiency in service and for indulging in unfair trade practices in addition, i call upon you to tender an unqualified written apology in this regard, since my financial prestige has been lowered in the eyes of my hosts at dubai as well as before my family members.

It would not be out of place to mention here that your bank is quite efficient in levying charges for issuance of cheque book even before the cheque book is issued despite assurances having been given to delhi high court that for judges of the court no such charges will be levied as we do not indulge in commercial transactions.

Needful be done within a week.
