I received an SMS see the screenshot indicating KYC is due and I need to click a click to complete the process online supposedly from union bank of india. However today we can not rely on such messages. They might be spam or phishing sms.
In SMS no a/c number or customer id is mentioned.
So I suspected it to be spam.
I called customer care and they were unable to provide any convincing responses. They said contact branch.
At present even though the a/c is in mumbai since I was in pune I visited Union bank pimple saudagar pune branch.
The officers there were just not helpful. They did not comment anything about the SMS or the validity of the link. I asked if they can verify if KYC is due on my a/cs which they again refused stating that such details are not visible in the system.
I wrote to branch as well the internet banking cell on email but no response.
Overall lethargic approach and not providing clear guidelines to customer is poor display of professionalism by Union Bank of India
