[Resolved] Velammal Vidyashram, — Agonising behavior of velammal school authorities with parents | |||
Hi, My kid is studying pre kg at velammal vidyashram, padappai, which is very new branch of velammal groups, which was not even built properly to start a school. Construction is going on and the school has also started on the other side in the same building which is the worst part of student life. There is no proper interaction between teachers and parents. If the teachers are ready to share any information regarding the child also management people dont let us to go inside to talk . Even they wont call the teacher out to clarify any doubt also. Actually iam a working mother and i was called to meet the teacher when i went to meet teacher to the school and requested i cannot come after dispersal of the kids as my office timings are 9am -6pm, some other authorities are saying, " what can we do if you are a working women it is your problem and you have to come after dispersal only" and didnt let me meet the teacher. Their behavior was very rude and cruel towards parents. "worst behavior of an educated people i have ever seen and that too they are in an educating field". Higher management should be shame to hire such an foolish people into their organization. How can a child be brought up without any interaction between parent and teacher. No one knows how he is behaving in school and no one knows how he is in the house. Now a days security people of the organizations are given the whole and sole authority to control the parents as if some riots are going on in many schools. I dont understand why this kind of behavior is treated as commercialised. Till the parents pay the fee amount the authorities will respect us, once the fee is paid the school authorities are treating the parents as some labor people as if they are teaching free of cost, parents are not allowed even to wait near the school premises. Feeling pity about the chairman of velammal vidhyashram who strived hard to make velammal institutions reach this position which was now spoiled by some ... Was this information helpful? | |||

few steps but the teachers are quite good in interaction with the parent . only the management is behaving other than the management issues velammal vidyashram is very good in education and discipline | |||

I had taken my 5 year old kid for entrance exam at Velammal Vidyalaya Paruthipattu Branch for admitting in first standard.
The results were published and my kids name was not on the list.
When I called up the school, they gave me a blunt reply stating the reason as LOW MARKS.
They just slammed down the phone even without answering to my other queries .
It was unacceptable to me. How can they judge a 5 year old kid through a test.
Kids sometimes find it difficult in a new environment.
If they had withheld the result and discussed the issue with us - parents, I would have been happy and would have better prepared my kid to get admission in the next year.
This was very difficult for us to accept and caused mental agony as my kid is very intelligent but he is a bit playful at times.
A better approach in handling these issues are needed .
On the whole a bitter experience for me.

Most o[censored]s are carried away by the rich, sophisticated buildings, expensive advertisements, sms/e-mail alerts, hi-fi toys n accessories and call a school as good and great... If that is what you are looking for, Velammal Vidyalaya(VV) is undoubtedly a very good school.
If
1) Teacher student ratio (which is at 1:50 in VV),
2) Parent teacher interaction opportunity (hardly 10 mins a quarter),
3) Motivating, grooming the students
4) Cultivating discipline, patriotism, humanity in children etc
are the parameters you look at, you will not give even 5/10 for VV..

I think the management is more focused on building branches than maintaining its values. and are hiring low grade staff for cheap price and as a result the treatment parents are getting is getting worst. teaching is nothing new same methodology that everyone follows -, too much homework, most weekend there is school, SMS, notifications don't come promptly. It's yet another factory that makes CBSE, I**, etc products - all depends on a students in-built ability nothing extra . After School Activities are there - but not so seriously conducted after the fee is collected.
Other Staff - Security, etc.. a kid needs to interact with those as well right - not just with teachers.
me and wife went to pick up our kids from school, the entrance was little elevated and she had some difficulty getting in, doesn't mean she doesn't know driving, some security person shouted at her with a harsh comment - and when i questioned he almost came close to hit me. never expected a school security chief to be so arrogant.whatever it is, why on earth was he trying to hit me.
when i complained to the senior person, he was not showing interest, and was trying to convince me . i am concerned about safety for kids .
such a shame - if they don't fix it - they won't appear on google search result for good reasons :-).

If the management fails to run the school, they may simply sell the property and get huge amount. They never take care about the children and employees. They treated the children and their parents and employees as slave. These people are most selfish. The senior staff never bring the parents views to the management, more over they do not like to recruit qualified and talented teaching staff due to ECO behavior. The primary qualities of qualified teacher is balanced mind, dedication, innovative teaching, teaching qualification etc. There are many groups among the teachers and criticizing other groups of teacher, . The behaviors of teacher with Eco, anger, revenge, jealous, nondisciplinary, poor attitude, favor with Superiors can survey. More than 98% of private schools are aiming to earning profit. They have given simply false advertisements in all media. Children, parents and teachers can review in the website, but can't do in practicallly.

Already it is spreaded over the city of Madurai now, so many peoples are talking bad about the school like Velammal Vidyalaya School is spoiling particularly the future of many 9th class students. Please take necessary actions immediately to avoid spreading. It will unnecessarily stop the growth of the school and name.
People are spreading the news like it is also a way of earning / looting money like if a student again studied in 9th STD, it will be an additional income for the school. Our opinion is Velammal Vidyalaya management doesn’t required to earn money in this way.
They are informing / complaining about the students only in 9th class, what they were doing in previous classes, if they could identified / judge the slow learner / below average students before 9th class (i.e. in 8th Class) and would have told parents that your child will not be able to / capable to continue studies here in CBSE or he/she will struggle in 9th class, if he / she doesn’t perform well we will not be able to send him/her to 10th class, so please take TC and go out of this school or please admit them in some other schools.
All the parents would be very happy and they would have taken the TC happily and gone out of Velammal Vidyalaya in 8th Class itself. Some parents are literally crying in the reception it seems. Why they are making parents to cry. It is not good for Velammal Vidyalaya.

I am now a sad mother who shifted just for the sake of quality education. I am mentioning abt Velammal Vidyalaya ponneri. 70 percent of students are from near by villages with uneducated family background. Most of the parents and particularly mothers are not even 10th std. And another major issue is most of them almost 80 percent are telugu speaking people. I even worked there for few months and stopped. The question which as a teacher I wondered the most is that many students in 6th 7th even 5th asked me that whether I am telugu, Tamil or hindi . I got irritated. Then I came to know that most of the staffs are from AP and no local ppl like to work here. Regarding education a big eye wash is with questions and answers on board and saying the syllabus is complete. The parents as uneducated most of them r satisfied with notes as syllabus completed. Most of the teachers r full of ego.

We never had school experience like the Velammal Medavakkam branch. No proper information and no punctuality for the class timings, to join the class 20 mts we are trying nobody accepting the request. Every class having a big period gap, there is no continuation timing for the classes (based on the teacher's convenience or shortage of teachers?). And finally the coordinator Ms. Sivaranjani her behavior is very worst, she is supposed to apologize to my wife for her rude speech. She is not responding to the calls after 50 tries and 3 days to attend the call and responding and the way of speech very arrogant way. Please take serious action against my complaint or your School name will be spoiled.
