Vijay Sales — liebherr refrigerator is simply awful

I bought a liebherr dr 2240-20 red refrigerator from vijay sales, santacruz branch during the diwali sales on 29 oct 2019. The service staff highlighted that this was a german brand and the fridge has awesome features and is a great energy saving product. What they forgot to mention is that it requires defrosting every 3 days and cleaning up of the back tray every 3 days when the water collects there.

No demo staff came to explain the care for the fridge and neither did they do the appliance leveling and leg adjustment when the fridge was installed. Their staff just came dumped the fridge in the kitchen and left.

What we began to realise was that the freezer would get completed frozen and every week we would defrost it. On one occasion we didnt realise the freezer had iced up from inside and the door was jammed. On tugging it - the hinge broke and the fibre glass of the freezer fell and broke.
Can't believe a german brand is so flimsy.

That was not the end of the problems. We started getting a terrible smell emitting from the fridge. We realised that water collects in the sealed tray behind. So every month we would clean it when we started getting a whiff that the water had logged in.

Also there was no platform given for the fridge and since the staff didnt do the leg levelling the fridge door scraps the bottom of the floor.

The smell and frosting up unfortunately showed up during lockdown. And we were in a jam since there was no service centre open.

Once the lockdown was lifting we immediately contacted the service centre. Almost a week later, the service man finally arrived. Now he says, we need to buy the platform and the door.

And to prevent the water collecting we need to defrost the fridge every three days and clean the back of the fridge every 3 days.

Our indian fridges don't require so much service. But german ones do!!!

Please let me know is this a regular feature or have i just got a malfunctioning fridge.

Water collects at the back of the fridge and needs to be drained almost every week. And the fridge has to be defrosted every 3 days. This is pathetic. And the service man came and didnt solve anything
