Dear Sir,

This is with regard to electricity theft and high electricity bills by WBSEDCL and inability to register a complaint online ( once u type ur complaint, the submit button doesnt work) and even at phone no-one picks up or when they pick up a consumer call, they disconnect it

I am a working employee and have a flat at the Green Vista Block C, Flat 3A, Narayanpur, Battala, Kolkata 136 and my consumer number is [protected].

It's been more than 2 years my flat is vacant and no one lives there. And the electric connection was disconnected due to non payment of bills(abnormal units charged, around 1200 units inspite of property was not used)

However, last week we decided to reconnect our electric connection. We paid for the last outstanding bill which was around 11000 rupees, along with 6000 rupees fine.

Now, as soon as the officials arrived and reconnected the meter, the units shoot up again showing 3000 units charged from the last time. The official checked that although the main electric connection line was off, the units in the meter were still running. The official warned that someone is stealing /connected their line to your main line.

Request you to please kindly take action. We won't be able to pay for such illegal activities.

I wanted to register this complaint but on the phone, noone picks and line disconnects. They have made a online section but very smartly once you press the button for "submit" it also doesn't work. Clearly they avoid any complaint handling but are quick to serve
disconnection notices.

I need someone to address this issue as I am not getting even a way to lodge a complaint with this company.

    Hello Team,

    I have never came across such a weird concept of billing. I noticed that we got the invoice of our electricity last paid was in sept and in month of Oct 2021 I changed it from comercial to domestic. Now I fail to understand that why I see Jan, Feb, and March 2022 bill.

      I paid the said money to wbsedcl almost before 2months but still they didn’t work. They just giving date but not doing any work.

        With due respect I, the undersigned inform you that, I am a poor old person still I fully paid the electricity bill with difficulties in this pandemic due to covid-19.
        I am bound to write the letter to you because I went to Keshtopur wbsedcl office but they did not took any action for LPSC money. I asked about my due bill. They give the due bill details, as per the bill details I paid the full amount. But later I received that I have to give LPSC money. As I am poor & old person not able to pay this amount(rs.1063) of LPSC money during this hard days(recently lost my wife in COVID-19 Apr’21). I request you to relieve or forgive this full amount of LPSC money.
        Related documents are attached to the letter. I shall be grateful to you if my complaint is accepted and please take necessary action immediately.

          Queen tower is a project of SM developers, All payment for new connection were paid on 25.06.2021, till date it was not processed from andul mouri branch. We have visited many times and discussed about this issue with station master but no positive response was there and also we are not getting any reply against our complaint. Verbally it was communicated that there are some outstanding dues of another project of same promoter because of this our new connection request was not processed but shockingly we came to know that common meter request was processed for that project. Now sir please let me know how it is possible that 'Nabanir Apartment' has electricity facility without paying pending dues but we will not get our power connection after complying all formalities.

          Please look into this

              I paid WBSEDCL electricity bill using Vidyut Sahayogi App with Phone Pay UPI. UPI transaction ID is (See the attached screenshot) to WBSEDCL. from KUNTAL DASGUPTA (SBI BANK). Money debited from my bank account. However, no confirmation message delivered in registered mobile. The consumer id is with the name of my father (PURNENDU DASGUPTA). Online payment status shows payment failure.
              I have also attached transaction details for reference as well. Please take an action as soon as possible.

                  My WBSEDCL consumer ID is[protected] and installation no 19598751. I was billed for Dec-21 earlier and paid for it. Recently got another bill of the same month. I tried multiple channels to contact WBSEDCL. Absolutely no response.

                  Called up 24x7 helpline number several times. Simply doesn't work. After a long IVR process, the call gets disconnected. This seems to be a joke.

                  Called up BIDHAN NAGAR-II BAGUIHATI at[protected]. Here, I was asked to provide my contact number and consumer ID with a promise that the issue will be looked into and I will be contacted. Nothing happened.

                  I raised multiple dockets in the WBSEDCL portal. Not a single one has been acted upon. Even my months-old dockets are not addressed yet. This must be another cute joke from WBSEDCL to provide this channel for resolving issues.

                  In search of more accountability and responsiveness, I wrote the below mail to Smt. Arpita Mandal in rgro.[protected]@wbsedcl.in. To my utter surprise, I didn't get any response from her office either.

                  Even now, no response/resolution from WBSEDCL. My registered complaints in WBSEDCL are still in "Open" state. WBSEDCL is such a highly unprofessional and callous organization with pathetic and shameless work culture. No wonder why people prefer privatization and professional management of businesses.

                  WBSEDCL officially has a post called Regional Grievance Redressal Officers. It is a big surprise what that person does other than drawing salary and perks. My multiple emails to her office felll on deaf ears
                  No reaction from WBSEDCL yet. I have tried following all the grievance escalation hierarchy as mentioned in https://www.wbsedcl.in/irj/go/km/docs/internet/new_website/Grievance_Redressal_f... None of them responded including Principal Grievance Redressal Officer (Sri Sanjoy Kumar Bhunia). The funny part is, the ombudsman's email id mentioned in the above site ([protected]@gmail.com) is non-existent. It is truly a surprise how unprofessional a service provider can be.

                    I have payed the electricity bill of via Google pay using the QR code present inthe bill. But there is no confirmation of the bill and I didn't get any receipt. I had to pay again via online transaction. Kindly look into the matter.

                      Sir I would like to inform you that on 24.11.21 at about 11.30 pm the electricity of my flat suddenly had gone when there was light in other flats .I also noticed that the light of the staircase of my block from ground floor to the 4th floor had also gone .The staff of your department came worked said five lines have been tampered from my meter .so that I m to pay huge bill in every month . please take immediate action so that I m saved from to pay huge bill and also save my meter from tampering

                        I have paid the bill amount Rs:812/- on 9/11/21 ( November 2021), by scanning the QR code on bill (Transaction reference number[protected], using paytm Scanner against the WBSEDCL consumer ID[protected] name- Prosenjit Mondal son of prabhat mondal

                        The amount is debited from my bank account, paytm is showing successful transaction, but WBSEDCL is showing the status as payment failure.
                        Kindly refund my money as soon as possible.

But WBSEDCL shows that the payment is yet pending and I'm not yet provided with cofirmation message. The Google transaction I'd is CLCAgO627JGpQw and upi transaction Id is[protected].                             I paid the electric bill on 06/11/2021 at around 7:30 AM for my three connections before the due date (08/11/2021) by scanning the printed bill's QR code. The consumer Ids for the connections are:
                            i[protected], ii[protected] & iii[protected].
                            But when I wanted to download the receipts against the payments from the official website, those payments were not reflected there. I'm now confused whether WBSEDCL got the amount or not, although Google Pay showed the payments were successful.
                            How can I be assured about this payment? Please either update the official website or refund the amount.

                              I have paid a bill on 17.08.2021 of Rs 1874. I have the payment receipt from WBSEDCL too and amount was also debited from my bank account but the the bill is still showing in unpaid section. I have a talk with the customer care of my bank and payment app they also told the payment was successful but still its shows unpaid.

                                I have paid the bill amount of rupees 4, 455 ( July, August and September combined) on 29.07.21, 9:02PM by scanning the Billdesk Bharat QR code, using Google Pay ( UPI transaction ID[protected] and google transaction ID CICAgOD83PalEg against consumer name Aminur Biswas
                                ( Consumer ID[protected] .
                                The amount has been debited from my account and google pay is showing that the transaction is successful but WBSEDCL is showing a failure in payment. We have contacted the nearest WBSEDCL office [Chakdaha East, Nadia, West Bengal], but no due action has been taken.
                                Kindly see it and do take needful action.

Online payment status shows no history available.
