Wipro — two weekend leaves deducted from leave encashment
I am an ex-employee of Wipro, emp id 848591, my LWD was 19thApril 2019. Actually my 60th day of notice period fell on a sunday i.e 21Apr and obviously Wipro doesnt work on a weekend to provide employee clearances. So the last day was set on a Friday i.e 19thApril. Now for settlement, HR says notice period served is 58 days and not 60 days and thats why 2 days deducted from my leave encashment amount. If LWD is set on next Monday then notice period will come to 61 day. So as per offer letter notice period must not exceed 60 days and i have served full notice without taking any leaves. Then why should employee two day leaves should be deducted saying notice period served is 58 days. I understand salary to be paid for days served. If you are deducting leaves but not paying for those days is not justified. Wipro cannot deduct employee leave for a weekend, this is not industry practice. I have follow with HR and off boarding team nobody is resolving this concern. I request to you to correct this discrepancy and provide approval to off boarding team that two days should not be deducted from employee leaves as employee did not take any leave during notice period but last day which was on a Sunday was adjusted to Friday. Thanks, Was this information helpful?
