Recently(24-SEP-2015) I booked a ticket from Bangalore to Vizag(Anakapalli) through REDBUS. The Bus was supposed to come at 5-15 pm from Marathalli and it was broke down. I waited for 2-30 hours and called up the REDBUS call center to cancel the ticket. In the middle of the conversation, they disconnected the call.(FIRST TIME) with no response.
At 8-45 pm, the Bus Driver(VRL TRAVLES) called ( exactly after 3-15 hours from the scheduled start) to find me at teh bus stop . I told that I cancelled my ticket with REDBUS since it was too late and not sure whether the journey could happen or not.
Again I called(SECOND TIME after an hour) the REDBUS, they just noted down the request for cancellation and told that email would be received in 6 hours regarding the refund of money. but this didnt happen.
Again, (THIRD TIME on next day), I called teh call center, again they asked for the problem despite the complaint number i told them. Finally same old response I received (the email would be recevied in 6 hours).
After 5 days (FOURTH TIME), I called the REDBUS callcenter, again they told the sweet answer that Bus was broke down and it made it to complete the journey after some time and finally concluded that money can not be refunded.
And this is not the first time, It happened for me with REDBUS. I admit that real time problems can happen with any bus and at any time. But its the responsibility of the ONLINE vendor to deal with in case of any issue.
RED BUS is simply a stupid ONLINE vendor nothing else. MY sincere advice to ALL is better book with direct bus vendor rather than approaching this STUPID online portal (WWW.REDBUS.IN)
its simply mere waste of time and energy to deal with REDBUS incase you come up with any issue regarding the BUS TRAVEL.
