[Resolved] Yatra Online / Yatratrip.in — forced cancellation of ticket and delay in refund | |||
I booked an international flight from jakarta to chennai for 29 april and return flight on 1 may. I paid rs 69, 948 for the tickets (Rs 10, 000 voucher code and rs 59, 948 by internet banking). Booking reference number[protected] I got a confirmation email from yatra with "confirmation email" as the subject line and the email stating in big letters that "congratulations! Your flight booking is confirmed." (Please see attachment 1). After 7 hours on the same day, yatra customer service sent me an email followed by a call and stated that the return ticket is not confirmed because the fares increased (Which was not updated in their system) and asked me to pay additional rs 6, 000. I told them that i would not pay additional rs 6, 000 as i already paid the amount which was shown at the time of booking which they accepted and also sent a confirmation email. Yatra customer care was very adamant. At last, they offered to cancel only one way return journey ticket and refund the corresponding rs 37, 888. I agreed to this on email. Please see attachment 2. I had to book another return ticket and it was even more expensive and i had to pay rs 45, 000. After that, they have been neither processing my refund nor responding to my emails as you can see in attachment 2. I would like yatra to refund me rs 45, 000 i. E. The entire amount i had to pay for re-booking return ticket because, they forced me to cancel the ticket booked on yatra for which they had accepted the payment and also sent a confirmation email. There was delay on their part in informing me if there was a problem with the booking and because of that i had to pay higher amount for re-booking. Was this information helpful? | |||

As per our records our team was in contact with you hope your query has been resolved and as checked refund of INR 45062.99 has been processed from our end in the same mode of payment on 5th May 2018. If payment has been made from a private bank, it will reflect in the same account within 2 to 3 working days and if payment has been made from public sector bank, it will take up to 7 working days for the credit to reflect in your account.
