[Resolved]  Airtel — activation of 3g

I have an airtel prepaid sim card with the number [protected]. I bought this sim card at Airtel office, Kalidasa road, Mysore. I requested for the activation of 3g on this number on 3rd/4th Feb 2015. However to this day, it has not been activated. Each time I visit the office and/or talk to the customer care executives, I have been given a lame reason and every effort of mine has turned futile. Once, even the airtel employee blindly ignored me when I was talking to him and continued scanning through his images on his phone. The customer care is pathetic and drove me to a point where I bought a vodafone connection and everything worked out of the box. Please kindly help me with this regard as I have recharged my sim card with money and don't want to lose it as I am pretty sure after that money is emptied, I will surely switch to vodafone.

I was out of station for the weekend. I observe today that my phone connects to Airtel 3G without me doing anything at all! so finally after 20 days, 3G ! PS: I will still switch to Vodafone as I have lost trust in Airtel and doubt their customer care.

I was contacted by an Airtel Representative on 16th Feb to confirm my complaint. On 17th, I got a call from a local Airtel representative informing me that they had activated 3g on their end and It was some problem in my Handset and I should restart my phone (as if I hadn't tried) The representative was in no positin to hear me out.

Meanwhile at the local airtel store, I was told that my sim might be faulty and I needed a new sim. So, I agreed to that and bought a new sim card. After activation of the new sim card, the problem still persisted! A waste of Rs 50/-

Furthermore, I was shocked to see that all my 2G data usage was charged to my 3G account.

PS: I am using the same handset with a vodafone sim and 3G to update my complaint!
