Hello, I was running a defragging program yesterday on my 1TB external USB disk and minimized the program. When I wanted to shut down the computer, I put it on Hibernate mode forgetting that I had the defragging program running. Today upon start up of the computer, I did not attach the external drive till it started up. The problem is that the disk is now unreadable! I tried (still trying) various programs to attempt to recover the data...

Hi,

Yesterday i was using defraggler from piriform to do a defrag, and i suddenly got a disk health: bad, and checked smart, and all was 0, all smart attributes was with error and bad, temperature was 0º (Of course incorrect) a new disk with about 1 year and half, then i canceled the defrag and only have done a chkdsk (Just chkdsk) on restart, then it took too much time, but at this time when i opened defraggler, and...

Just hooked up a New Western Digital My Passport 1TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive. My Dell Inspiron 580 running Windows 7 doesn't see/recognize the new HD. I loaded the WD driver 1/19/2011 1.0.00090, but the Dell/Windows 7 still doesn't recognize the WD-HD. I switched USB ports but still same result. Does anyone have any suggestions before I call Western Digital Tech Support?...

I bought a Western Digital Hard drive 2 weeks back from the Laxmi Nagar and one 2nd hdd bought before 2 year.
The drive was not working properly .I raised a complaint with WD support and got an RMA#. I was told to sent it back to Western Digital's NCR office. They offered to pick this up. They said it is going to take 2 business days.
