[Resolved]  RTO Mumbai — Taxi drivers on taxi stands not ready to take minimum fares

This is regarding the taxi drivers in mumbai who are very rude.. They are not ready to accept fare from VT to Churchgate and have their own demands of not leaving the person to churchgate. One such silly reason of not taking a passenger is that they dont have change...
I strongly recomend the RTO of Mumbai to take strict actions against all such Taxi-drivers for their rude and stubborn behaviour...
The Taxi drivers do noy even budge to the orders of the Traffic Police officials...
their licences should be confiscated and should be suspended for a suitable period of time (i.e. 1 month or as subscribed in the RTO rules).
I humbly request the RTO to take steps regarding this serious issue which is a nuisance in a city like Mumbai.

i want to lodge a complaint about a cabbie whose taxi no is MH 01 JA 3082.I boarded the taxi at wadala station(w) for llyods estate which is near dosti estates at wadala(E).after few metres he took the cab in a bylane and asked me to get down.He refused to drop me at my destination to which he had formerly agreed.I requested him but he still was adamant and arrogant.I had to walk down all the way to my residence.Strisct action must be taken against such cab drivers who cause immens inconvenience to passengers.
Today I met one auto rickshwa driver who admitted that his meter runs fast & I need to pay extra amount which his meter will show.for example if I am paying Rs.98 from Borivli west station to Marol naka everyday so if his meter will show 135 then I need to pay that, when I asked why he replied then get down from auto.I told him that i will go to police He laughed at me & said try this we know how to manage them. The auto rikshwa no is MH-03 K 617.
Is any one there who can give us justice? Is our RTO officers getting managed? Is this the way we tax payers should be treated? Is any one listening to us? Please reply Mr.RTO.

There are so many drivers in koparkhairane (navi mumbai) infront of Jimmy tower stand, they are charging different auto fare...they are not following meter fare...from that stand to my office i always paying 12 rupees. meter fare but...so many Auto Rikshaw Drivers...like MH 43 C 5412..not following the RTO rule...so plzz take the appropriate action against these type of drivers...they are not only breaking the rule of RTO, miscommunicating also...if they will charge himself auto fare so what is the user of RTO rule?plzz take action
I would like to bring to the RTO's notice that a number of new taximeters in Mumbai are totally manipulated,
i have had 2 experiances in the past week, the meter starts ticking faster after 2/3 kms and the diff is 15/20% higher, i think the private taxis like Meru and Star are more dependable then the yellow taxis, speakin to a regular honest cabby, he said this malpractice is very rampant and in hand in glove with a few offiicals.
I would request you to kindly take strict action against these offenders at the earlies.

Regards

TAXI — Do not take the near fares

Kind Attn.

This is regarding the Taxi ot Dadar station.
The drivers refuse to take the fare for a small distance by saying there is no gas or its time for me to park the taxi where as if they get a passenger for bandra or sion or churchgate they take it at once.
Everyday I have to wait outside the station for at least 30 to 40 minutes for a taxi. If the taxi drivers are not ready to take the fare then their license should be confiscated at least for a month as a fine.
They are unnecessary building up traffic on the roads. It is supposed to be a public transport for public convenience. If the traffic police forces the taxi driver and makes the passenger sit in the car they go to a certain distance and then stop the car and say we are not going ahead. They get down, smoke, have tea and chat with others and then we are forced to leave the taxi.
They are not even afraid of RTO if we tell them that I am going to complain to RTO they very casually say go and complain we’ll see what happens and are very rude.
The driver of taxi no. 7869 did the same thing.
I would request you to please look into the matter and solve it ASAP.
I had an complaint against truck drivers parking their truck almost on the bus stop in area of SEWRI to COTTONGREN.The stops are not visible for B.E.S.T BUSES & the driver takes the bus to next stop even there is an stop telling that "the bus stop is not visible".

my humble request to you to take action against this complaint as early as you can.

thanking you.

TAXI — taxi drivers not ready to come

Hi,

This is a complaint against taxi drivers who refuse to hire from Big bazzar Parel to deepak theatre worli.

I stay in lower parel near deepak theatre and often go to big bazar for shopping. While returning back from bigbazzar, public often try to hire a taxi from big bazzar parel to deepka theatre or till dadar. But taxi drivers dont agree to come down to deepka theatre or say dadar as its a very small distance and they get only the minimum charge for it say 14/- rupees only.

I request RTO mumbai to please take a strict action against this taxi drivers and help public to get proper service.

Mumbai public waiting for your reply.

Hi. I did like to lodge a complain about the attitude of cabbie drivers outside Dockyard Station. Its a pain to find a cab to your desired destination from there. The cabbie drivers are reluctant about taking you for they dictate the destination where they want to go to. There are days when there are 5-6 cabs stationary at the stand and none of them agree to go. All of them just keep waiting say even for more than half hour. They only entertain the share rides to some government officials to the nearest government office. This is ridiculous and needs to be stopped. There has to be a traffic police at this location to stop this cabbie drivers from dictating terms.I had a bad experience today and have noted the number of the cab. Its MH03 F8236. Hoping the action be taken at the soonest.
I had boarded taxi from Worli to go to Khar on 05th Jan 2010. On the way I realised Taxi meter (electonic meter) was very fast. I complaint to the driver for the same. On reaching to the destination I realised meter was reading as Rs 140 the total fare, however the No. of KM the taxi has run was only 8.9 KM. Considering the fact Rs 14 is charged for every 1.5 KM the bill should be around 90-95.
I was surprised with the bill amount, however driver kept on insistin the meter is right. I feel strick action should be taken against the driver for fudging the meter of the taxi and bigger concern is that the meter is electronice meter in a Maruti Car.

The taxi No. is MH01 AM 5053. Request an immediate action against the driver
I want to lodge a complaint against a Taxi Driver, his meter is running fast. MH - 01X 1098
I took taxi from Passport office, Worli to Chakal, Andheri East. His meter was showing Rs. 196/- [Always it comes between Rs. 150/- to Rs. 160/-]. Traffic was normal as all days and distance was travelled within 45 minutes.
Dear All,

Need not worry if Auto and taxi drivers act smart (Over charging, Refusal to take u to ur destination etc). You can not nail them down. All you need to do is call one of these Traffic Police Helpline numbers[protected] or[protected].

A traffic marshal will reach you within moments and cancel that guys license if he refuses to agree with you. So pls be strict with these cabbies and auto walas and teach them lesson for their errant behaviour.

This is a great move by mumbai traffic police. Hats off to Mum traffic police.

TAXI — Refusal of taxi-driver for near distances

I have been residing in Prateeksha nagar for 15 years but never had a problem of refusing a cab driver to go to GTBN station or nearby locations, but past 2-3 years the cab driver are abusing people and strongly refusing to go GTBN station .Some people are living inside in prateeksha nagar they are having problems like getting late for office,Some could not walk fast,Some who are over 50 could not walk fast.Taxi-drivers does not bother about ill people who wants to go to hospital or doctor clinic nearby. They even refusing to go to Sion hospital. They never give the reasons why aren't they going to Sion hospital. If we ask them please they just abuse and refuse to go . So this my Complaint that duty not performed by taxi-drivers.Please take the proper action quickly.
I want to register a complain no a inova car no MH 02 BX 116 as not having control on driving and was about to crash a bike and a female on SV road Ville Parle.

Plz kindly take an action on the same.
I want to make a complaint against an autorickshaw whose registration No is MH 02 RA 4945.

This auto rickshaw was waiting for a fare at the HSBC, Garware signal, Andheri East at around 10:20 am on 28-Apr-10. When my friend and I asked him to go to Marol, he promptly refused. There were 2 more autos wating alongside. Even they refused to go. We were waiting there for about 10 minutes, already late to work.

Finally, out of frustration we complained to the Traffic Police who was at the signal. He was not of much help either. He asked us to just go & sit in the auto & if the auto refused to move we were to signal to him. When the other 2 autos saw us to the traffic police they fled from the scene.

Anyways, we went right back & sat in the auto but he refused to move & right enough we signalled to the traffic police. When the traffic police started to come towards us the auto driver started the rickshaw and went ahead. I even dropped the meter myself.

However, he stopped a few meters away & said that he would not go further. He got off the rickshaw and refused to ply any further. He was well out of the view of the traffic police as well. So we could not go back and complain either. We had no option but to stop another auto who luckily agreed.

I earnestly request that strict action be taken against this particular auto driver.

I strongly reccommend the following:
- Autorickshaws & Taxis must be strictly instructed against refusing any fare/customer.
- Traffic police must play and active role in helping the publc in correcting this menace.
- Whenever there is a specific complaint against any taxi or autorickshaw driver, their license must be confiscated for atleast a month.
