[Resolved]  RTO Mumbai — Taxi drivers on taxi stands not ready to take minimum fares

This is regarding the taxi drivers in mumbai who are very rude.. They are not ready to accept fare from VT to Churchgate and have their own demands of not leaving the person to churchgate. One such silly reason of not taking a passenger is that they dont have change...
I strongly recomend the RTO of Mumbai to take strict actions against all such Taxi-drivers for their rude and stubborn behaviour...
The Taxi drivers do noy even budge to the orders of the Traffic Police officials...
their licences should be confiscated and should be suspended for a suitable period of time (i.e. 1 month or as subscribed in the RTO rules).
I humbly request the RTO to take steps regarding this serious issue which is a nuisance in a city like Mumbai.

There is not any area in RTO website, where we can make a complaint for our discomfort for getting any service. Also, this website is planned in such a manner that WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SURF IT THROUGHLY.

When I reached home the meter shows Rs.645/- I asked the driver for the faulty meter. but he argued.. The distance is only 18km. and the charged should be less then Rs. 350/- This taxi is always there in the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. The Number of the taxi is MH-01-AM 3480.

I had booked a Mega Cab for 3.00 AM on 24 May 2014 to go to Mumbai Sahar International Airport from Powai.
The booking was confirmed by Mega Cabs around 1 PM on 23 May 2014
as per Booking No - BOM0025, Control No - C[protected]. However, neither the cab reported
at the booked hour nor any intimation sent in advance regarding non availability of the cab at this unearthly
hour. When enquired Mega Cabs gave the reason in the most casual hurried manner as breakdown without any concern
to go back to slumber immediately thereafter.

There is a need to have a stricter control and accountability on erring Cab drivers who leave their customers stranded even at an unearthly
hour at their whims and fancy.

Can appropriate authorities look in to the matter to ensure more accountability for not providing booked cabs as scheduled and also review the existing system of confirming the actual allotment of a cab, details of driver etc. to you by Mega Cabs and other similar operators only 20 minutes before the time of the actual requirement time particularly for the cabs booked for airports/railway stations and especially during night hours when arranging any alternate vehicle is no easy task particularly with baggage. This was the third consecutive occasion when the Mega Cabs have left us stranded inspite of the so called confirmed booking made in advance. What is the purpose of a confirmed booking and doesn't Mega Cabs feel the need of any back up arrangement to avoid suffering and inconvenience to their customers.Well so much for their accountability and concern for customer satisfaction and service.I am sure attitude of normal black/yellow taxis is much better and they are significantly cheaper also.
I would like to lodge a complaint for Taxi drivers not taking passengers and behaving rude with them. This is an everyday issue for taxis that are parked behind OLD RBI, Fort, Mumbai opposite Punjab National Bank refusing customers from Fort to Mantralaya. I had first asked the driver whether he would take me to Mantralaya for which there is no "Yes" or "No" he halts the taxi for a while thinking and then suddenly speeds the taxi while I had already opened the door to make such embarrassing surrounding for me. This is an everyday route for me. Making it inconvenient to travel.

Would appreciate if strict measures and actions are taken against such Taxi drivers for not abiding by the traffic RTO rules, parking in Non zone area, refusing customers. WHERE DOES THE RULE INITIATED BY RTO GOES WHEN ALL THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING AROUND US.
This is regarding a gang of Taxi drivers who are robbing customers outside Dadar Railway Station. Their modus- operandi works something like this - they usually wait for their victims who arrive on early morning trains from various cities and are usually sleepy and tired.

There is this elderly, short man who accosts the would be victim and takes his baggage in his hand and leads him or her to the taxi. Once the customer reaches the spot he is asked to sit in an old taxi (maruti van cab).

Another person enters the van and asks the customer for change. He then places a 500 rupee note on the customers lap and asks for change. What this conman does is he confuses the victim who is already sleepy and tired after the long journey and fleeces him of some money by confusing him and asking him for a 1000 rupee note or a 500 rupee note as change

The customer is then asked to get down and travel in another taxi after the conman finishes his work. This gang works in connivance with the local police. Request the concerned authorities to please crack down on these gangsters as soon as possible as they are robbing innocent people (I believe this gang is from sion- koliwada)

PLEASE PUT THIS GANG BEHIND BARS BEFORE ANY MAJOR CRIME OCCURS
