same with me, but i refused to resubmit the documents again and ready to switch the service provider. if you purchase from local shop(not from Airtel outlet) then they ask to resubmit it again to make aware the customer to purchase only from airtel outlet.

Hi, Agree, Airtel doesn't provide proper reasons for the request of document and it becomes more painful to talk with Airtel customer care representatives.

The first Airtel representative to whom I talked told me to resubmit the same set of documents it would be fine as it is a periodic check by Airtel. I just bought this number one month back and I told him Airtel cannot ask these documents everymonth. He had no answer or rather kept on telling resubmit documents but didn't tell why I should.

The message I received didn't mention anything about outgoing calls being barred.however Airtel barred outgoing calls around 2 days after I received the message without any proper intimation

I called up again. This time the airtel representative said, incorrect documents were submitted. When I asked which document was incorrect. He said he didn't know and nobody in Airtel can tell me that. He suggested a list of documents which had to be submitted, which was nothing but same set of documents I submitted last time. Now I don't know actually what was wrong in my previous document submitted to Airtel and I fear the whole process will repeat with Airtel. But nobody was able to tell what was incorrect in first place.

Now I wanted to register a complaint in Airtel. The Airtel voice message said I had to call 198. for complaints. But when I called the complaints department. This time they said Government of India wanted to know my documents, so airtel had given it and they want a copy of the documents for reference which is why they are asking it. This response from Airtel seemed foolish to me, they could have taken a copy and send it to government was my response. I wanted to raise a complaint which the person said he cannot. Even though it was a complaints number I called. he said there is no way they can take a complaint on phone and I would have to only send an email. so I think people who don't know to email cannot complaint in Airtel.

Because they are not allowing me to use the Rs 700 odd balalnce I had, I asked them to refund the money, which they are not willing to do. Being a customer with two airtel mobile, a airtel DTH and an airtel broadband connection. I'm really really thinking of changing the service provider for all for this kind of sloppy service they provide. Don't know why i took Airtel for all in first place.
Airtel is asking the verification document after 3 years from...means for 3 years they have not verified the number? Indian government is asking only Airtel and not any other network provider why so...because I am hearing this case with many of my known ones with Airtel prepaid...I think Airtel do not save the customer records properly and at time of audit or something they do such crap things...Airtel sucks and pray to god their customer ratio drop heavily because their ill treatment by their foolish CCE seating and annswering the calls with no sense
I have been an Airtel Customer for over 4 years and suddenly I find my outgoing calls barred. I called the customer care centre number[protected] and was greeted by one of the rudest persons (Naseem) I have ever known manning a customer help desk. The guy stated that my number has been allocated to some one else as it has been inactive which is rubbish as I am still using the number. He then proceeds to disconnect the call. I call back again, the same person answers and he is as rude as he was the first time around and again proceeds to disconnect the call saying Airtel mein call karne ke liye dhanyawaad when I asked him to speak in English. What kind of an outfit are you guys running? There is neither any sense in barring outgoing calls nor is there any sense in employing guys who have no idea of what customer service is all about and whose language proficiency is restricted to Hindi.

Then, I called up a third time and this time spoke with another executive by the name Abbas who though not rude was absolutely unhelpful in resolving my problem. He stated that my number has been barred as I did not submit the documents. I had submitted documents a multiple number of times 4 years back and I do not understand why you need them again. Even if you guys need it, I do not think barring the calls and using that as a leverage to get the documents is going to work to your advantage. Either you guys have become too smug and are taking your position for granted or Airtel has gone plain dumb. I will submit the documents in a week’s time and I want my outgoing calls restored immediately.

I am going to send a mail to the top executives of Bharti Airtel on this issue and if you guys do not respond to both the issues of call barring and extremely rude response of your executives I will be forced to send mails to some of my contacts in media to highlight the extremely anti-customer attitude of Airtel.

now they stopped my service, then why should i resubmit my documents it may happen again..its not my duity.I think its AIRTEL's duity to verify my authenticity by enquiry about me and my documents..SO WHY AIRTEL????????????
MOB:-[protected]
After having submitted documents 8 years back NOW Airtel is again asking for verification documents. If they are so concerned they should send their agents to collect the documents, since it is THEIR FAULT that they have not maintained the data.
NOBODY will be with AIRTEL after such harassment. Just wait n watch till 15th Jan 2011. I DEMAND URGENT RESTORATION OF OUTGOINF FACILITY AT MY NO [protected] OR REFUND MY BALANCE AMOUNT SO THAT I SHIFT TO ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER ASAP.
I have same problem with AirTel Chennai. I'm using past six plus years. Now they asking for verification documents. I have submitted documents(Photo copy of PAN and Driving license and my Passport size photo) with my signature last week(5th Nov 2011). Today(9th Nov 2011) I got call(IVR) the document is not correct/enough. Is this my problem? I don't think so. I have submitted every required things and they has to come my place and do the checking if they need. I don't know why simple calling and telling same things.
