[Resolved]  HSBC Credit Card — Credit Card Number [protected]

Hello Sir,
This is Mr. Praphulla Pawar. I was given this Credit Card in 2008. After taking this card, within two months some one from TATA AIG Insuarnce called me to take Yearly Medical policy of Rs 100 monthly. That was a telephonic policy and no signature were done as there was no paper work involved. Though i really do not remember what did i speak on phone. But i got courier that policy is taken by me for Rs 100 monthly. but after 2 months i cancelled that policy as per calling toll free number given on courier docs.

But as i did not get statements in time i could not make timely payment. When i got statement they charged me some intrest and asked me to pay that amount before 1st Feb 2009. And i issued cheque for the same of Rs 450 (Including intrest) and it was also cleared. But next month again i got statement that i did not make payment in time and hence they cancelled my Cedit Card and now asking me to pay Cancelling charges of Rs 3000 (Not it is increased to Rs 5500). I don't have any problem for Cancellation of Credit Card as till now i never done any Purchase on Credit Card.

When I called their Customer Care today they said that Policy was never Cancelleld as what i was assuming. But when i did call to Cancel policy that Lady told me that it will be cancelled that day only. Now i don't understand how i am faulty here. And now for mere Rs 200 Rs i have been asked to pay Rs 5500.

Can you please suggest me what should i do here.

Best Regards,
Praphulla Pawar,

HSBC Credit Card — FAULTY CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS WITHOUT ISSUING CREDIT CARD

The Abovementioned Bank, one of the reputed Credit Card Providers has been denying a basic right to the customer, i.e. Ensuring the Credit Card is given to the Customer before Sending out Credit Card statements.

On 23rd July 2010, I had requested for Blocking of my credit card since some confidential documents pertaining to the Credit Card details were misplaced. Immediately the Credit Card was hot listed and blocked. As per the billing cycle, I received the Credit Card statement for the Purchases made in the Month of July and the same was settled in Aug 2010. For the entire Month of Aug and Sept the Credit Card was in the "HOT LISTED" AND BLOCKED" status. Despite the same, the Bank has been sending Credit Card statements with Primary Card Numbers repeatedly changed and has been charging Money and late payment fees, whereas the customer doesnt even have the CARD in a WORKING status, nor has the bank ensured that the customer has a REPLACEMENT CARD. Till Today, 18th Sept 2010, the bank has sent two different Credit Card statements with different card numbers (Different from the Credit card number in July 2010) and has asked the customer to Honor the payment.

The customer infact in good faith made the payment and registered a complaint on 4th Sept 2010, stating that the late payment fees has been wrongly charged and the Credit card statements have been sent with a different Card number, whereas the customer doesnt even have the Credit card of the said number. The Customer complaint number filed was :[protected] on 4th Sept 2010.

Surprisingly on 13th Sept another Credit CArd statement was sent to the customer now with a new credit card number (Third one : original was xxxxxxxxxxx7539, changed to xxxxxxxxxx8991, changed to xxxxxxx3361). Again, the late payment fees was charged.

Today, I have personally called up the bank and the Bank Official (Manjit Singh ) has registered a complaint again, after profuse apologies that indeed the bank has done incorrect thing of not sending a card, of sendng a statement without a card being given and ofcourse of charging the late payment fees.
The said compalint reference number given today is[protected]. On requesting for speaking to a Senior MAnager on the floor, the Senior Manager denied to come online. Instead sent a message, that we shall study the case and get back by monday.

The So called Reputed bank has now for the last few months made it a practise to charge late payment charges, despite ensuring the payments are dropped on time. Last month, the ICICI bank cheque was dropped 10 days before the due date, however HSBC bank did not collect the cheque from ICICI bank. This i had personally checked to find out why are payments being charged for late payment.

I would like to register a complaint with the higher authorities that when I forced to pick up the cheque from ICICI bank to the HSBC Bank Executive, it was picked up after due date, despite droppin the cheques before due date. This seems to be a methodology to RECOVER "Annual Fees" which is for a platinum card customer given as a life time free card.

I am thoroughly disappointed with a Reputed bank like HSBC and would only ask other customers to bank with the said bank after due checks
