[Resolved]  Airtel Digital Dish — Fraud

Airtel and Cyber Crime should take sever action on these people who are cheating in the Name of Airtel.

My name is Vivek Jain, I got a message on 05/09/10 to my registered Idea mobile# from Airtel DTH svc stating that I have won a Airtel Digital set top box free with 2yrs of free connection and Rs.2399 gift hampers absolutely free. In that message I was advised to register my name and address at www.airteldigitaldish.com on the same day before 12:00 AM to get the free gift and Airtel DTH connection.

The following day (06/09/10) I received another message stating that I need to pay customer svc tax of Rs440/-only at the nearest State Bank of India branch in the favor of Kartick Pal, Ac#[protected] and also to fax the receipt to fax#[protected] on 06/09/10 before 3:30 PM or else I wont get the SET top Box.

This raised a concern and alarm whether this message were true or not. I quickly browsed Airtel digital dish on Google and to my surprise I found that lots of innocent people where cheated from this message. I request the Cyber Crime team to investigate and take severe action on these people.

It is a serious cyber crime and cyber policy have to take serious action against the culprit.

I also received a similar email two days ago. we logged in the website and put up our details and today we found that the website no loger exists. Please let us know clearly if this is all fraud. And if possible please publish an add in all newspapers specifying the same so that all others are also safe from this. Luckily we haven't paid any amount anywhere.

My name is Shubha and i too faced the same problem.I got an sms stating that i have won an airtel set top box bt this sms is fake.Thank god when i searched google.And also read Wasim's sms.

Request people not to fall prey of such sms's.

I mail this to the fraud email contacts, but yet not get any reply from them.
