[Resolved]  Godrej Smartcare — Godrej does not value their customers

Godrej Customercare does not care about their customers or value their time. I have been given a commitment that Godrej service engineer would attend to my call today for which I took a leave from my office and also paid the full amount of service charge by cash. But at 6:30pm , I was told by the so-called help line that my call wouldn't be attended today. It seems I made a mistake in purchasing Godrej products .Godrej takes care of their customers in such a way that they won't dream of purchasing Godrej Product next time.

It’s been little more than 2 months since we bought the Godrej AC GSC -18FM 5 star rated Split AC 1.5 ton.

This was just a background now the story begins, oops STRUGLE BEGINS...

We Bought the AC on mar. 24th 2010 and it was installed after 2-3 days it was Pathetically installed by PANKAJ([protected]). First of all he made a BIG HOLE in the wall and did not install any filters provided in the same package, According to him those were waste and of no use. He left it uncoverd. He left all the pipes hanging leading to the compressor. After he left we turned On the AC and it was making a sound as if it has some stones in it. We called him immediately and he said it’s temporary. Next day a young so called engineer came to check the installation and to get the feedback. We told him about the problem that its making sound, He said because it’s a new installation the wings will take time to adjust and after few days it will go. He said once the wings rub to an extent the sound will stop coming, according to him YOU guys provide larger size of wings than required just like that. I was not convinced because it was completely illogical and unacceptable as it’s not the 1st time that we were buying an AC. I asked him more questions. I asked him “If I use this AC for 5hrs consecutively how much unit will it take?” He replied, “It consumes 1unit in 24hrs” That was it. I asked him to leave and we did not sign any paper. All this while we used to get SMS from Godrej that XYZ person will come and will give DEMO and used to have call centre number. Same day after 2-3hrs we got a call from a person named Ranjan ([protected]) he wanted to know why we have not signed the papers and Introduced himself as area in charge for the service centre. We told him about the problem. Nothing happened we called him next 2 days continuously request him to send a Senior Technician. We were at his Mersey now. Meanwhile the AC continued making that sound and sometimes it used to be very loud, we understood that something is wrong. Well after 2 days a guy named Tajinder ([protected]) came along with assistance. They checked the AC and it was proved that all the connections were incorrectly SETUP by Pankaj. They corrected the faults and assemble all the filters left by him. They also said that the hole made in the wall is too big and they apologize for this. We always felt that the cooling is not that effective. We complaint about that immediately. Tajinder said that it’s a common error with Split ACs and the AC will start working fine after a few days.

Well days converted into weeks and weeks converted into months but the cooling was same or you can say worse as we had to keep the AC temp. at 20degrees. It was enough.

We called Godrej Service call centre on June 2nd 2010 @[protected] and registered the complaint (complaint no. 252690 and 252695). One technician came with a meter and checked the AC and said that the cooling gas was not enough it is 6 and it should have been 8 plus on the scale and there is a manufacturing defect and they need to fill the gas. NOW the actual STRUGLE BEGINS...

We refused to fill the gas coz we are done with it every now and then there is a problem with this AC. Websites are full with the complaints and the after sale service is Pathetic. Every since we filed the complaints wet get calls from different people, we call people to get the resolution and explain the same story that i just mentioned above and they keep on saying that you have to fill the gas and we refused.

Every time we speak to your representatives they treat us as we are fools, when we try to tell them about the problem, they will just not listen and keep on interrupting, they will not shy raising their volume and compel us to do the same.

Today when we spoke to ALOK(so called an area manager) he said Godrej uses LOCAL PIPES for fittings and they can be cracked at anytime.

We had no clue what to say next. We were fooled by the distributer (Sargam Electronics, Pitampura) and most importantly by Godrej. We trusted the brand name. But i think it was our biggest mistake.

Just to let you know that this not our 1st AC. We have 2 Window ACs from one of your biggest competitor and one of them is more than 7years old that is also 1.5 ton and ever since we bought that one we always use it at 25degrees and no complaints.

I am not comparing the two ACs because there is no comparison. What i want is, MY AC should be replaced with a new one with no manufacturing defects. PLEASE

I have given my Washing Machine complaint on 08.11.12 to Godrej but not yet resolved the same.
Now these peaople ar saying they will require 5 to 6 days more to resolve the issue.
Very poor service from Godrej.
