[Resolved]  Home Town Bangalore — Poor quality of Product and service

I have taken a 6 seater dining table from Marathalli, Home town in April-2008(invoice no:[protected]. One of the chairs just fell on the floor and surprisingly the leg of the chair broke. It was such a poor quality product. I have complained to the section Manager by personally visiting the showroom again, they pormised me to send some one to take a look and decide what to do. They haven't send anyone and they don't pickup the call. BTW, forgot to mention that at the time of purchase they promised to send the product in 3 working days, and they didn't send us the same till 20working days. Finally they delivered the display pieace and when we saw the scatches on the table, they mentioned to us that it is diplay piece.

Overall a very poor quality of products and services. It's been projected that the HT price range is lower compared to other showrooms, but I have noticed that on many products it comes out to be higher.

Hometown Bangalore — Poor Product

From the day , i ordered the dressing table, we are having problems .

After ordering , for 2 weeks they were postponing delivery . Then Hometown said the product ordered is not available. They wanted us to re- select because they took full payment . Money return was denied. We were forced to select from the remaining lot .

On delivery , the dresing table came with no handle.

And after 4 months , the dressing table door is rocking ..
I too am having a similar terribly stressful experience dealing with Hometown, Marathalli, Bangalore. Wish I had read the reviews about the store before making any purchase from there.

Want to use this forum to convey clear and loud to my fellow shoppers to please do not fall prey to the Hometown logo of matching or beating competitors' lowest price; you will heavily for the few bucks saved by dealing with the delivery of your products.

I ordered an LCD TV, a refrigerator, a geyser and a rocker chair from the store, total amounting Rs. 72, 000/= a week ago and am still undergoing the agony of their highly unprofessional staff (including managers). The entire payment was made in full except for Rs. 37, 500/= for the refrigerator which I paid by ICICI bank (at par) cheque. I had to make innumerable phone calls to Hometown for the delivery of each of the item purchased. This was even more painful as for each of the item delivery, I ended up spending Rs. 1000/= in cab for going to my new apartment in whitefield from my sister's place in JP Nagar.

The ICICI cheque for the refrigerator got cleared on 3/11/2009 still when after my frustrations I went to the hometown store on 5/11/2009 and spoke with the manager Bernard, he told that the cheque is pending and the delivery can only be made when its cleared. Yesterday, upon suspecting this to be fishy, I checked my bank's online statement and was completely shocked to learn that the cheque had long been cleared. When I told this to the Hoemtown manager Bernard, instead of accepting the irregularity on their end and expediting the delivery, he again gave me the same crap namely, "it will be delivered tomorrow". I still don't know when that tomorow will come.

Will share this experience in all the online forums to help protect fellow consumers from a highly deceptive big showroom called "HomeTown".

Thanks,
Shweta
