Hello, I bought this phone from E-ZONE Bangalore, around 3 weeks back. It worked fine for first 10 days. After that I am having a problem with the phone. One hour after switching on the phone, the phone will go out of network coverage. The signal strength indicator on my phone shows FULL strength though. However if somebody calls my number, they gave a response saying my phone is switched off or out of network. Similarly if I call someone, it just don’t do anything and call will get disconnected or sometimes, it will say “No network coverage and only emergency calls”. Sometimes when I was in the middle of conversation, there will be no voice for 10 seconds and it works again. To nail down the problem, I kept the phone in different places (just to make sure of network coverage) and I had the same problem. I tried with different network service providers like airtel, idea and the problem remains same. I went to the SAMSUNG service station, Domlur, Bangalore. They said it’s a software problem and re installed the software. However the problem still persists. How to get this rectified ? whom should I approach, same service place again ? Its not even 1 month completed, so should I get a replacement for this ? Let me know immediately. even i have the same problem...i even got the mainboard changed, firmware upgraded..but still got the same problem as said by Mr.Mohan...but i guess i figured it out...when i remove the memory card(8GB microSD) and use the phone..it works fine.. i tested it for 2 days..i have also put a complaint on samsung's website..will see if they reply...i suggest you try removing the memory card..
But the service centre engineer used my hpone with a 2GB memory card and returned me the phone saying it works fine...i guess samsung star cannot handle 8GB memory card as declared...got to see where this issue goes...
i'll wait for a week and finally will have to approach the Consumer Forum to fight against Samsung as they are not ready for a refund or replace my handset with a proper working one...it's been a month that i've been facing this problem

the dealer told me to upgrade my version to get rid of these problems but as this phone has just launched why hasn't been upgraded by the company itself before selling it in the market to customers and damaging its goodwill in the market

I too faced lot of problems with this mobile. Just purchased on 25th july 09(2 days back). At the showroom only i was unable to call or recieve calls thoug there was full signal. I got another piece of mobile and found same issue. They asked me to contact airtel for this issue thinking its network problem but i dont think so. sim card which worked for other mobiles is not working for this handset?????????

I face Similar Problems with this Cellphone, including the Phone Goes OFF when I put itin my pocket or inside its case . The screen gets FROZEN manytimes when in a call, the software displays several errors with java even with signed games!!!

Just 15 days ago I've purchsd this GT S5233A Sansung Handset. i'm having trouble with hang problem while call in process. After I disconnect the call it is still showing connected for additional 1/2 to 1 minute for incoming or outgoing calls. Also unable to send business card from this phone. Also sometimes it is getting restated automatically. Samsung executives are requested to look in to the matter and solve these problems.

are the three buttons (the call button, back and power on buttons) below the screen suppose to light up with the screen?
i hve this phone since 2 months an i hve faced no problems at all it depends on the dealer an the way of handling it !!! it is a very sensitive phone an got to take care of it an i hve not discovered any problems i hve games i install them i install many things but it never gets hanged ...i love my phone alot!!! ther is only one complaint that the phone is cover is very hard to put an sensitive the locks could be broken i[censored] dont put the cover properly the first time...any ways i hve not experienced any problems yet an hope so not...i would like to suggest everyone who uses or hve samsung star to take care of it carefully an i[censored] hve gone to any problems get it repaired ...IT IS A LOVING PHONE reply me if any question
