Address:Delhi

I had cacelled my credit card of Standard Chartered Bank in 1997 and submitted it along with last payment. I tried for loan and learnt from various service providered that my status with CIBIL in not clear because of the above. I request CIBIL to get me details of pending payment with the bank along with description of the pending dues. This will be highly appreciated and helpful.

Thank you,

My name is Anish Alphonse and im holding a credit card from SCB.I had an outstanding balance of 16000 to be paid. But due to my work i was asked to work from abroad. in the work pressure and the new locations i totally forgot about the credit card. After somedays some people from the bank started to call to my home number and they were harshly behaving to my mom. After that i called them up from abroad and asked about the situation and told them that i will settle the same as soon as possible. But even after that they continued to call and the harsh behaviour.my hometown is in Trivandrum and SCb doesnt have a branch there. When i told them this they asked me to send a DD favouring SCB and to sent the same to their Chennai address. the same was done and i got a confirmation call from the bank also stating that they have received the payment. After this there was no problem for almost two months but a few days back i got a mail from SCB and they are asking me to pay the amount again. They are threatning me stating that my name has been included in CIBIL and the negative list of RBI and because of this no bank will give me any more loans.Even after explaining everything they are not willing to respond. We have the DD receipt that has been taken and also the speed post receipt through which the D was sent to SCb office in Chennai.Being an NRI im finding this very difficult.

Dear Sir, Good Morning! how are you sir, sorry to bothering you. Finally I come to you to help me in this regard. I regret to inform you, that I got a bitter experience from your SCB Collection department with Ms.Chandini and about their service. I would like to inform you that I am Premnath Raghunathan one of your customer holding the Current A/C No.[protected] which my company opened to credit my salary, past 3, 1/2 yrs I am using your card, It has been blocked by your collection department this month due to UN logical reason. I would have called you customer service desk many times, accounts dept has been transfer to credit card department, they said to me to card has been blocked by collection department you have to contact only collection department.. I went to your Bur-Dubai branch and met Ms.Chandini, she ask Mr.Jamsheid to attend me and Mr.Jamsheid said your card has been blocked due to O/s of your credit card and he ask me to pay 450/DH on that day and he said he will reversal all the o/s and prepare a settlement and forwarded to his head office at Bombay. once we got approval i would contact you and you can pay with in 3 instalment. As per Mr.Jamshaid direction i would have paid 450/dhs on 21.01.09 and await for settlement. In mean while i got many call from collection department and asking the outstanding payment and i would have informed that I am dealing with Ms.Chandini and Mr.Jamshaid then also they keep on calling and some one said never get a settlement you just walk in to our branch and met Ms.Chandini again. Again, I went to Met Ms.Chandini she ask Mr.Abdul to attend. I explain him its bank mistake and he ask me to meet Ms.Chandini again and I met her she ask Mr.Jamshaid and Mr.Kaiser to attend after I word with them and explain whats happen, they said to met Ms.Chandini again. I went to Ms.Chandini again, said I want to meet some Manager who can understand and solve my problem. Mr..Taheer is only person to solve this issue and I would have awaited for Mr.Taheer for 3 hrs on 31st Jan' 2009. I went back to Ms.Chandini every 30 minutes and ask Mr.Taheer, she said Mr.Taheer is busy with Month end work he can't meet you today.. She said " I don't want to speak to you" you speak only Mr.Taheer comes. Mr.Kaiser said I will arrange you to meet Mr.Taheer on Wednesday (Today) Finally I went back to my home. Actually, First of all Its totally Bank mistake, try to find who done a mistake ask them to pay rather then asking me? I am ready to pay those amount, Now, they making me this much trouble. Its totally disturb and hurt me. Daily I would have received UN answered call 49 out 50. They calling me and when I answer they cut the line, I would have answer thousand of your call. I don't want to say this what kind of customer service, you just think about it. This kind of torched its beyond human rights. Your customer service[protected] its not help customer. Even customer went personally to bank many times can't find the remedy and can't make a complaint ? In this case bank can't compensate me, that much I would have got troubled and disturbed. I just request you to take action and make sure it may not happen to some in future who really innocent. Sir, kindly sort out this problem and make me free to concentrate to my business. your immediate response, action and promptness in this case will be highly appreciated. Kindly acknowledge the receipt of the same. For further clarification don't hesitate to contact me. Officer, Customer Care
Guys, my case was even worse, I opened 2 accounts with Standard Chartered Bank SCB Singapore USD and SGD last year after my return from my posting in jakarta for 16 years. on 23 Feb I did a forex transaction (sell USD to SGD) with my so called customer relationship officer Miss Tas from their Battery office on the 23 Feb and my SGD account was supposed to be credited on the 25 Feb as promised but it never did.

I have issued a cheque to a friend and since I have been repeated checking my SGD account and found money was not in, I kept telling my friend to hold on to the cheque so my personal credibility has suffered.

And since I could not wait any longer, I used my Rupiah account in Jakarta to convert to SGD to pay him, resulting my loss in exchange rate.

Then, suddenly I received a deposit slip on 20 March advsing my SGD account was accreidted on 18 March, a long wait of over 20 days and the slip is without client initial, although the dotted line has asked for the same.

I immedaitely called Tas for explaination, she said it's Friday and can only revert to me on Monday. She knew her mistake and offered me in one of her sms "what can I make up to you" as this is due to "documentary error""

In another of her sms, she said I did not suffered any loss as the day the SGD was credited was in my favor. Who determines this? The Client or the bank?

I asked for immediate explaination and she said she will ask her superior to call me on Monday 23 Feb, I told her to be prompt and she said that I was being "unreasonable".

Her colleague called and in her words she admitted that Tas "did not put in the deal in time" but I wanted everything documented properly and I wrote in to her supeior Mr koh and 2 days later my case was referred to Mr Gilbert.

Again after some days'of investigations, Gilbert replied to me in his e mail that this is due to "human error" and my e mail exchanges with him, I demanded to be compensated but it was turned down and my emails are always not replied promptly.

I have posted my questions on my very first e mail and have not been taken and answered seriously but the only excuse was "human error"and "docuymentary error"
1. Why the long wait of over 20 days before a conversion is done.
2. How does the bank define "documentary errors"? Is this normally used to cover up mistake like this. he has been repeatedly telling me that this is due to "documentary error"
3. On the deposit slip that your bank has credited SGD into my account, there is no "client initial", is this a normal practise that without the signature of the client, the bank has the right to do conversion at the time and rate that the bank wishes
3. How does the bank wish to compensate me on the loss of my Rupiah/SGD exchange loss
4. How does the bank wish to compensate me on the loss of opportunity that I could convert the SGD/USD at a more favourable rate?
5. How does the bank wish to compensate me on my loss of personal credibility by asking my friend not to bank in the cheque?

NO proper answers was given, I have left my mobile no, nobody seems interested to call, and after reading your irritating calls from Standard Chartered Bank Credit card sales rep, I come to a conclusion that Standard Chartered Bank is a bank which is only interested to sell, when come to problem, they will just play delaying tactic and does not give proper answer to the mistake that they make, let alone asking for compensation.

As Gilbert rightly pointed that the bank has caused me ïnconvienence" and "änxiety", no mention about their willingness to settle the case and compensate me.

I aksed to seek the opportunity to write and speak to Gilber's high authority, and have yet to receive any response

I have decided to close all my accounts but there were some issues like my son's Childrean Development account and other Giro arrangements that need some time to be set up with another bank, no one seems to be interested to pay me a visit or call to assist.

This again show that Standard Chartered Bank only interested in achieving a sales result but not willing to assist when you want to get out.

Guys, let's face it, we are up against a Giant. Standard Chartered Bank has 150 years successful years in Singapore, I do not think that this message will create any damage in their name.

But will this Giant look into the case seriously and give me proper answer, rather than "documentary error"or "human error", as this case has resulted me not only financail losses but also damage in my personal credibility in asking my friend to hold on to my cheque, the damage coulc be worse if I did not check on line and that my friend has bank in his cheaque.

Standard Chartered Bank, being called "unreasonable" for a grave mistake that you made when demanding a prompt explaination, is a personal insult to me.

Regards
Angry customer of Standard Chartered Bank
