[Resolved]  Standard Chartered — misrepresentation by bank

Sub : Reversal of TATA AIG Protection Policy Plan charges / cancellation of card no [protected] in the name of M TEWARI

Dear Sir/ Ma'am,


I was having Stantand Shartered Card since last 10 years and I am also very regular in making payments against purchases made through card .


In the month of Oct 08 one Executive by the name of Miss Neha (phone no[protected] called me over my mobile and tried to sell me the TATA AIG Protection Policy Plan, which she said is only Rs 500 for the whole life. Though I tried to tell her that I am not interested but she insisted over and over again. She pushed me the insurance policy which I never wanted and was never interested.

After two months (during which I got no statement of account) I got a billing of R6500/- for purchase of TATA AIG Protection Policy Plan .I immediately contacted the bank on dates 19.01.09, 01.01.09, 12.01.09. 16.02.09, 28.02.09 & 05.03.09 and requested for cancellation of the policy and 100 % reversal and the statement of account to show 0 balance as outstanding.

The same has not been done till date despite my repeated telling the helpline executives and also after talking to shop floor supervisors.

You may appreciate that I was told that only Rs 500/- will be charges towards the purchase of TATA AIG Protection Policy Plan where as I am now being wrongly billed Rs11000/-

The same amounts to commitment of falsehood and misrepresentation by bank executive for which I am not responsible.

Kindly revoke the charges and also cancel my card with immediate effect and give me a statement showing nil outstanding..

I had also suffered problem similer to you in 2008 and suffered lot. Having suffered due to credit cards and CIBIL in 2008, have decided to help those who are also suffering due to such problems. In last 2 years I have gone through CIBIL Act, Rules and Regulations, severla other RBI guidelines as well. I am personally aware about Standard Chartered that they are doing lot of illegal activity and have already made complaint with RBI. But I want several complaints directly to RBI so that RBI is forced to issue inspection of Standard Chartered, which will bring out lot many surprises.
