[Resolved]  Tata Sky — poor service

My connection is having problem with distorted picture and no signal. Complained to Tatasky. A service technician was sent from Chennai in the afternoon who within a few minutes restored the service. He literally ran away in his motorcycle without explaining the problem and before being called back again. Within a short period the same problem started. For this 2minute job Tatasky has charged Rs.125/-. Wihout solving the problem why I have been cheated. Should I stop the service though it will not make any difference to the provider as there will be enough opportunity to cheat others. I think all should refrain from DTH service specially Tatasky and better to switch over to cable service provider.

Tata Sky — Salary of Sep-08

I was employee with TATA Sky from last 9 or 10 months i do my duty time to time i also regular in sep-08 first fifteen days.after this i leave the job but my company cant agry for this i regular attend in sep-08 first fifteen days. TataSky — Charged me for package i didnt request

Hi,

I am subscribed to tatasky service.On 2nd March'2009, they added a package "Gold Package" to my account without my consent. I emailed them on 3rd March asking about the same.
On 4th I received a call from Tatasky saying they added it to my account since I requested the same through their automated voice system.

I nor any of my family member called for the service to be added.Now tatasky is saying they can cancel the package effective immediately but I still have the pay the charges for the 2 days the service was active.

I am not happy since i never requested the same so why should i pay for it? This is simple cheating as you add the package and when asked to remove it, tatasky charges the customer.

They should have a process to verify any request before any package is added (like calls coming from registered phone#s etc

Tata Sky — Cheating and Poor service to the customers

I have activated semi annual Package on the tata sky for the following details:
Sub ID# [protected],
Last transactio was on 22/07/09.

The major reason to take up this pkg was of Colors channel. However, i am not able to see the same at all.The quality of the signal is extremely poor.

Inspite of calling the customer care (?) executive multiple times and inviting some of the (so called) engieers, which costed me hundreds of rupees, the issue is still unresolved.

The recent talk with customer care executive demanded Rs 350/- to be paid as charges to see and understand the problem.
This, infact, should be a part of the service to the customer, for which the customer has already paid.

The misleading information like Digicomp box may be faulty and needs replacement indicates possible fruad, as other channels are seen, hogh with poor signal quality.

I request the authority to take it up on priority and provide justice to the troubled and cheated customer.

There could be a possibility that the digicomp may require replacement. The cost is not predetermined. There must have been some communication error which shifted your choice. I too have replaced my digicomp and I was charged onlt for hardware Tata Sky is a good brand with attractive package.

TataSky — Tatasky's poor customer care

Hi,
Am an annual subscriber of base pack[south jumbo], and other add-on packages like lifestyle gold & cosmo pack also paid annually. due to poor response at customer care end, i told to cancel the service and later i told to re-activate the service. now they are asking all my money gone and i have to repay everything from now onwards.
I dont feel it was management issue, its purely wrong technology given to wrong people[customer care]. Management need to look into this issue.Else lots of customer to face the same.
Spoken to lots of people and they feel they are god and customers are animals.
anybody who gone court for this kind of service provider can help me to crush them.

I am also a victim of similar nature. An active learning package is continuing to my account without my consent which was innitialy added as a free package.

TataSky — They do not provide the right information and make the customer pay

I have many issues but I would like to point two of them where they misbehave and do not help.

1) On 2nd Nov 2009, I have raised a request for the transfer of my TataSky. I was told that the charge of Rs 350 will have to beared by the customer. They also asked me to carry the setup box. I happily agreed. Now when the engineer came in to do the transfer they told me that since I did not carry the Disk, I will have to pay Rs 1000. I argued but they just had one line that the customer has done a mistake and they can not help. I went and took the disk, and after 2 days again they came back and this time they said that I will have to pay for the cable. When I asked for the reason they say "its company policy". I raised a complaint to TataSky about this and asked for a refund for the cable charges. After many followup, they called me once and the lady said that that it is the policy. When I said that I already had the long cable earlier and I have paid 1300 rs as Installation, why did not you guys used the same cable. They only have points like the new cable is of better quality but when I was okay with the previous quality why should I want a new one. Then they said they will not re-imburse the money and that is all.

So, I ended up paying twice for the cable. Once, when I took the connection initially and second time when I did the transfer.

Also, when I recently asked to drop a package, they lied saying that they do not have permission to drop the package and a rquest will be raised and a special team will call in 24 hours for this. When 24 hours was over I called up again and this time they said they will do it now. What a lier they are.

I want to fight against them in consumer court, can you tell me where can I lodge a complaint. I am in Pune.
very poor service, 4 times talk to customer care but after waiting 5 minutes operator is on the line but when we start conversation about change our package always disconnect the phone 4 times.

Iam new user of the tata sky, recharge first time without any information package start and deduct our Rs.100/-

I am not satisfied of your services, kindly refund my money and not interested in your product.

i got my conection on last monday on 20th dec. the lady Vijeta who took the request promised me that connection would be done within 48 hours. butr i gave her date on 24th for installation.

today in the morning i called up to find out 1st person promised me that sme1 senior wud call it didnt happen, nexct it was gaurav who promised that within 2 hours sme1 will call it didnt happen.
after 2hrs i called up again to speak to amit, who seem to understand my frustration i had demand
1. give me compensation or
2. pay me back my money for delay right away or
3. get a set top box from local dealer and give me connection right away, he said that he cant honor any of my demand he put the line to Ms vandana, who promised me that by 4pm 2day sme will call and resolve the issue. which didnt happen, when i called up at 4:20pm i was transferred to Ms Anita who banged the fone without hearing my complain.
later some other lady promised me that my connection would be disconnected the no. was 1-[protected].


i want to understand
1. why do you promise if you cant deliver
2. why your people run away from client who are upset
3. do you think you are making TATA's very proud??
Sir,Kindly refer to my mail of dated 15/09/2011 furnished below, it is very true that tata sky is totally failure, have no care for their customers. I am facing problems again simlar to earlier problem occurred in Sep.2011. Now another HD set top box has been stopped working. Engineer of Tata sky had visited on 19/11/2011 and could not set the things right due to non availability of HD box with tata sky as usual. My previous comments stand good. Thanks for the hopeless service.

Sir, Tata sky is very hopless. Services are very poor. I am having three set top boxes. Out of one is not working since 12 days. The box has been replaced three times but failed to perform. Tata sky people are making BAHANE as boxes are not availabe in their stock. Being a old customer I am paying Rs 6000/- per year excluding rent of boxes i.e, Rs.480/- pm. for comlete channels. But no attention is being paid by Tata sky. Thanks for the poor service.
Tata sky is befooling customers by way of showing bonus on recharge etc. Basically, the company is charging very high amount for which it do not deserve since not providing services. Hopeless.

I am a subscriber. Tatasky have a service 'Helpdesk' where you can complain with online-chat. But it seems they have programmed it in a way that if you are first-time connecting to Helpdesk, you get through. Since later on you get the message
"Thank You for contacting us. We are unable to address your query right now. Please register your query on the New Request form on our website, and we will get back to you"
to get rid o[censored]s, it seems. I am interested to add Neo Sports for EURO 2012. I filled in the form, but to no avail. Complaint nos. SR[protected] & SR[protected]. 36 hours & Still they have not started the channel.
You can address your complaint to tata sky’s official handle @tatasky. There must have been some problem with their servers I suppose, they will check what caused problem in connecting to the helpdesk. I once faced an issue where I paid for the package amount but my account was de-activated. I tweeted regarding this complaint and tata sky immediately responded to my tweet. All I had to do is submit my subscriber ID. The customer service team instantly gave a callback and my account was activated. I suggest you too should provide your subscriber ID either here or tweet regarding your issue with this complaint link. I am sure they will look into your matter and help you out in adding Neo sports.
I, M.Kirupakaran, residing in Chennai is a customer of TATASKY for the past two years. TATASKY Id. [protected]. In the first year I opted for Mega pack which is annual pack. I kept receiving unwanted alerts on my TV screen and I kept on requesting TATASKY to stop these alerts but in vain. Finally when TATASKY approached me for renewal (which was due on 29.01.2012) I told them then unless they stop all alerts on my TV, I am not interested to renew. Immediately TATASKY said that they will stop all alerts. I asked TATASKY to confirm the same through mail and TATASKY sent a mail to me on the same day, 29.01.2012. Immediately on the same afternoon I sent the payment of Rs.5,500/- towards Megapack, based on their promise. But to my shock the alerts kept coming. Whenever I called the helpline, they invariably gave some excuse like from now onwards you will not receive any alerts, previous person had stopped only the mobile alerts and only I stopping all alerts, previously had not removed the select button for stopping the alerts and now I am deselecting and definitely you will not receive any alerts and so on. But the alerts never stopped. In between I had heart attach and underwent angioplasty and it is really tiring to correspond with them. Because TATASKY do not answer to mails through mail, but only makes a call and gives false promises. If I ask them to send a mail they say, " we are not authorised to send mails and you send mail to receive reply", and I will not receive any reply through mail. Now after one year, TATASKY is announcing that they will not stop any alerts.

We customers pay money only to watch the clear picture and not to watch the picture along with an YELLOW ENVELOP (in addition to their logo) which prompts us to read the alert and there is no delete option without reading those alerts. Some times the delete option is not available even after reading the alerts. If I had been told the truth in the first place, I would not have paid the fee. After one full year they are accepting that they have neither stopped the alerts nor intend to stop. I request you to do justice and ask them to return my money.

On 26th Mar 2013 late evening the TataSky set top box started downloading latest software. The Download never completed the download even after 2hrs, so I called up the customer care at around 11.30PM.

The next few days nobody contacted from Tata Sky, so called up again on 30th Mar 2013, I was shocked to hear from the customer care that the complaint was not registered so i asked them to register a complaint. I was told a technician would visit my place and he would call me up before coming to my place. at this stage I was not informed by the customer care executive about the charges. After this I immediately checked my TataSky account and I got the second shock, the daily amount was being deducted from my tatasky account even though I was unable to view any channels or packages.

On 1st April 2013 one of the TataSky technician came late in the evening to my house and checked the set top box and told me he has to replace the box but he does not have it right now with him and he would return back tomorrow. The next day he came and replaced the box and found the adapter is not matching with the new set top box pin and he has to replace the adapter and it would be charged seperately.

So after this I was able to view channels only for 1 day and I received a call from customer care on the fix, I told them to revert back the charges from the period 26th March, 2013 to 1st April, 2013 which the cc executive reverted after a long heated argument of around Rs 65.

One day passed and I got another shock when my balance in the tatsky account showed a negative balance of Rs.442, I immediately called the customer care again and I was told the following are the charges

Rs.225 for set top box
Rs.150 for Service charges
Rs.125 for Adapter replacement

I told them that why I was not informed about these charges before fixing they had no answer and why they did not raise a complaint immediately when I called them on 26th March 2013. I refused to pay any service charge at that point for poor service provided and the adapter which I originally had was working fine and the technician had to change as it did not match the set top box.

Finally on 6th April morning I called the customer care again to cancel the connection and refund any amount applicable at the time of returning the set top box, I was told that backend team would get back to cancel the connection.

Nobody called till 7th April 2013 afternoon and I called them back to process the cancel request, the customer care executive said he will forward my call to a supervisor to speak to him. The supervisor told me to recharge for 450 or 500 to reactivate the account as it was deactivated due to low balance and in order to revert back the charges I have to recharge the account, to reactivate and to revert back the charges. The supervisor assured that the following charges would be reverted back as follows and some one would call me from tatasky to update the same

Rs. 150 for service charges
Rs. 125 for adapter
5 days of viewing period from 26th March to 1 April 2013

the following would be deducted from account Rs 225 for Set top box for replacement

However, when I received a call the same day 7th April 2013 I was shocked to hear that only Rs 150 for service charges would be reverted back and the rest of the charges would be still applicable and it would be deducted, by this time I had already recharged the account with Rs.450

I would not only like to get back the money I recharged and cancel the connection I would like a complete refund of the initial security deposit.

They are charing 6000/- per year but their service is not good. For my call not getting singnal on saturday, no body attended until now. When I am calling to help desk those people will reply in a pleasent way but I am not getting service. Even I raised one request to deactivate my service for that also they are not responding.

They are not providing good service, I am suffering without signal from saturday, and also they reluctent to call of my tatasky account permanently.

This caused me to suffer with that poor service they are providing instead going for an alternative.

Hence I am keeping into your notice.

Am facing the problem of poor technical service from your team, my above system was used at my native palace in chikmagalore district of karnataka.
My complaint is, after my every recharge am not able to view the TV due to technical problem &amp;amp; after calling to your team they will say your set of box is not under warrent &amp;amp; you need to pay visit charges of Rs 150 !!!
This is my 3rd payment like this ... Why such bad quality set boxes are used by the TATA SKY ? Why i need to pay Rs 150 for every month ?

my local cable operators are providing good service for lessthen Rs 100/month ...

Due to Hudhud cyclone came to Visakahapatnam, A.P. my Disc has been broken on 12.10.2014 and I have reported to Tata Sky Customer Care on 15.10.2014. But till date there is no improvement yet.
I regret to say you that your service is being poor day to day in our locality.
I am P N Balchandran and am a subscriber to Tata Sky DTH facility since the past 6 years RMN [protected] Tata sky ID [protected].. My set top box stopped working on 21.10.2014 and I made a complaint to M/s Tatasky immediately. I had informed the person who attended to my call that instrument is a HD recording type device. On 22nd a boy showed up looked at the device and told me there is some electrical problem and it will have to be replaced and promised to do that between 10-11 pm. But he never showed up or make any calls. Calls made to his number on that day and the next day were not attended to or rejected. Since then I had been making complaints to M/s Tata Sky every day. They give me standard reply that they apologize for the inconvenience caused and promise that it will be resolved on priority. Nothing happens.Yesterday someone from their Bhandup facility called me and told me that such set top box is not readily available which I believe is a lie since M/s Tata Sky heavily advertise this type of device. I am a senior citizen and depend heavily on TV for news, entertainment or simply to pass time. I always pay the subscription fee in advance for one year. I chose Tata Sky over others because of the TATA brand name.Today i.e. 28th Oct I again contacted them online and the person who attended (Mr. Grandhi) told me that the visit has been fixed on 26th at 15.30! This shows their attitude. I am forced to make the complaint since I feel they are callous and their service is lousy. I hope that they will redress my problem.
