108 Ambulance — Death of my mother because of bad ambulance and doctor

My mother suffered a cardiac event and was admitted to a hospital.. The doctors stabilsed her and advised me to shift her to a city hospital for further treatment. She was certified by the treating doctor to travel to a hospital that was around 200kms (around 5 hrs journey) away. I hired a cardiac ambulance which included a 108 doctor.

The ambulance though painted in nice colors was a complete sham. It creaked and cracked on road. Shaking from left to right because of bad suspensions on good roads. Because of this my mother experienced another cardiac event in the ambulance. The accompanying doctor had no idea what to do in an emergency situation. He was a BAMS with absolutely minimum medical knowledge required to go with an emergency service. Though I was told that the cardiac ambulance would be carrying all required instruments, it was lacking most when required. The ambulance owner did not take a defibrillator because 'i thought your mother would not need one' is what he said. He was missing one of the most required instruments in an emergency situation. Ultimately my mother died in the ambulance because of the incompetency of these people.

BAMS and BHMS doctors should not be allowed in emergency services. They are not qualified to handle those services. I lost my mother to a quack (BAMS). If you need an ambulance and your patient is not in an absolute critical situation please take some time to see what instruments the ambulance is carrying for an emergency situation and also check the accompanying doctor. Absolutely avoid a BAMS or BHMS irrespective where he is a MD or whatever. An emergency can happen any time inside an ambulance and you are at the complete mercy of the accompanying doctor. It is the difference between LIFE and DEATH. Do this for your loved one.
