Respected sir,

Sub: unauthorised occupation of vacant site, causing nuisance and
Problems to neighbouring residents and dirtying the area –
Complaint & request for evacuvation – reg.

Ooo

I am a senior citizen, aged 70 years, residing in my own house just behind amruthahalli police station, in the address mentioned above, eversince 2006.

2. My neighbouring property (Site no.77, 1st main road, amruthanagar b-sector,) is vacant site and the owner lady who was a bank employee, died long ago. It is learnt that she has a son and due to his bad habits their relationship was not good and the lady kept her son away from her. She has not even informed him about purchasing this site. As such, there is no owner/claimant for this site and people are fraudulently trying to establish unlawful ownership.

3. Taking undue advantage of this, some unauthorised labourers have unauthorisedly trespassed, occupied this site and put up huts and about ten people are residing here from several months. They are causing lot of nuisance to us by making too much of noise, by dirtying the area by washing clothes/vessels, taking bath, urinating within the site and in open storm water drainages and producing smoke by cooking with firewood.

4. My efforts in advising them did not yield any result. I also told them that if they do not vacate, complaint will be lodged to bbmp and police to evict them. For this, they say, bbmp or police cannot do any harm to them as they are having support from the local corporator and no one can evict them. They say that they are not afraid of bbmp or police and challenging that they cannot be evicted.

5. To my surprise, my request/complaint with all the bbmp authorities below the joint commissioner did not yield any result at all. None of them seems to be keen on evicting them. They plead that they are helpless and unable to take any action as they are under pressure by the local corporator because they say that he has directed them not to take any action.

6. I am unable to understand why these bbmp authorities who should show interest in maintaining cleanliness and neatness, are encouraging slum atmosphere in bbmp approved localities just because somebody has influenced them. If the owner of a site is not alive, that does not mean that anybody can be allowed to build huts and use the site in a very clumsy manner causing nuisance and giving trouble to neighbours. If anybody has concern, they should build a good and neat house as per approved plan and provide them to live in there.

7. Even the site owners have to take bbmp’s permission and get their building plans approved before starting construction. Whereas these unauthorised occupants are not covered by any law of bbmp and do not care for the bbmp authorities and they are free to put up huts in any manner and spoil the beauty of the layout. They openly say, they have bribed them and they will never trouble them. Can this be true? The dream of our prime minister of making swachcha bharath is hereby defeated.

8. I may also mention here that some nearby residents are taking services of the ladies in these huts as domestic servants for washing clothes and utensils, sweeping the house etc., and encouraging them to stay within their reach and preventing the bbmp officials from evicting them. It is also learnt that one of the owners of the commercial buildings near bbmp park has influenced the local corporator to stop the bbmp officials from evicting them and that is what these dwellers keep telling openly.

9. I request you kindly to visit the spot once and inspect the situation here and direct the authorities concerned to take proper action to evict these people and making the area a slum. If there is no owner for the site, the bbmp may think of taking over the site and allot it to anybody.

10. With these few lines i humbly appeal to you to bestow your interest in the matter and to do the best possible effort to eradicate slum atmosphere and trouble to neighbours by evicting these people at the earliest possible time.

Yours faithfully,
Bangalore,
