Aakash Institute — no proper response about security deposit of 5000

Hi,

I studied in akash academy[protected] regular class roll number:[protected], section me03, 1 year regular class room course, i was asked to pay security deposit of rs.5000 while joining alone with 1 year course fee. Ambattur branch office person informed me that 2 months after i complete my course they will refund that 5000 rs. I completed my course on february 2019 but still i haven't received any response from them regarding this security deposit, multiple times i called head office and branch office they both give different answers. Once they said that this refund has been approved and will be notified through message regarding when to collect but i haven't received any message for the past 2 months. Again when i called they say that it is not yet approved. I think they aren't going to give me that money and instead make me tired of calling them and give up. I need the security deposit back or i will have to complaint against akash academy on cm cell.

Dear Student! With reference to your query, as per the company policy mentioned “Refundable Security Deposit: Each student will be charged ` 5000/- as refundable security deposit for Medical & Engineering Long Term Courses, ` 1000/- as refundable security deposit for Medical & Engineering Short Term Courses and ` 2000/- as refundable security deposit for Foundation Courses (Classes IX & X) at the time of admission. This amount shall be refunded to the student after deducting miscellaneous charges if any within three months from the date of completion of their respective courses via cheque or directly into their account, if the bank details are provided by the student / parents.

In case, the Central Govt. levies any kind of indirect tax or increases the existing GST of 18%, then, the additional liability will be payable by the student/parent. In case of non-payment, the same shall be recovered from student via debit from their security deposit. Moreover, any fee dues or pending payments or penalties due towards AESL shall also be debited from the security deposit amount.”

Hi, after this complaint I received cheque of rs.5000 and when I tried depositing it in bank my father seems to be entered without initial and so the bank might reject this cheque. My father name is S.V.Kumar that I have mentioned while joining but in cheque you have mentioned only Kumar. If it gets rejected I will contact u back.
