Dear air india authority,
This is urging of a common people who is knocking your door for justice. this was shocking when i arrived at air india boarding pass counter, mumbai t-2 for baggage checking and boarding pass collection. i started for journey from surat by train to catch ai-675 at 0610 hrs departure. because of train late one and half hour i managed to reach at counter by somehow 50 min before of departure. nobody was there to manage the queue. i convinced the passengers to get favor as counter gets locked 45 min before. however i produced the ticket and requested to do process as fast as possible. counter attendant checked the ticket, id card and baggage.
I stood for few minutes and noticed she was not doing anything. when i asked for the reason, i was asked to talk to ground staff manager. i asked that lady manager what happened. she was not replying. i asked again and again. she replied that i was late. i replied that is right but i managed to report at counter before 45 minutes even with my little kid. i got unexpected reply “you are late, so you are late. you should report at least one hour before departure”. i tried to convince the lady manager that i had enough time if train was not late one and half hour for such short distance journey. and yet i reached 50 min before and i was begging for boarding pass for me, my wife and my little kid. nobody was listening to me. after few minutes the manager noted some late report in registrar. i requested for two boarding pass for my wife and kid with hand baggage. she was not listening to us at all. she was satisfying her ego and playing dirty game at such responsible post with public handling. the happening could be seen in cctv footage.
Few minutes later one senior citizen arrived at counter for boarding pass. he was 2 min late. he was not having anything but a small hand bag. the answer of the lady officer was “if i allow you i have to allow these people also”. the senior person requested her to give us boarding pass also. we all have ample time because boarding starts 25 minutes before. we all were begging for boarding pass beneath our dignity. we all were not heard. after few minutes we were handed over to another ground staff. we were told that we were so late that all papers were finalized. they did not accept that they killed our time.
This was a total drama. that depressed lady officer (i don’t know the name) was playing funny game to satisfy her ego. when i replied that i managed to report at counter 50 min before she became furious. she promised not to give me boarding pass. she was rude and adamant. she was not assisting us in any way.in fact this is management lack from air india authority. that lady is a representative of failed air india management mechanism.
Later we booked another ticket in jet airways to complete the journey in evening hour on the same day to attend durga puja festival in kolkata. it is a case of harassment and penalty of ind rs 40, 000 which was spent for kolkata trip (minimum fare on that day).
I was technically correct. this is a case of pure harassment and loss of my hard earned money. now i can claim for this amount of rs 40, 000. i can also urge for taking punishment action against that lady ground staff manager. i am also sending a copy to air india vigilance wing, a copy to prime minister office. i will also collect public opinion in social media if no due action is taken.
