Air India — delay/cancellation of flight ai 696 | |
Date: 21-sep-2017 Place: varanasi airport Carrier: air india ai 696 / ai 1695 I am writing about this incident happened with me during my travel with the worst air carrier of all times - air india. People in air india are really not bothered about their passengers' time and patience. The delay of their flight ai 696 was communicated to us 2 hour before the departure time (1:15 pm) wherein the carrier expects their passengers to report 2 hours prior to departure. The flight was delayed to 15:30 with no definite time of departure and till 14:15 the carrier employees are not sure whether the flight will land in varanasi or not. This would be the last and final time i am flying with air india. The air india manager at varanasi airport makes a statement, 'sir, i don't know whether the flight has left mumbai or not. I think the person sitting in mumbai has forgotten to port the departure of the flight in the system". I really felt like india went back to 1990s after listening to that loose statement. Resolution: air india should discontinue their services from all the non metro cities so that people can travel smoothly and keep their time schedules intact. Specially they should discontinue the varanasi service as they are delaying their varanasi flights miserably and have no answer to any of the questions raised by passengers. My flight from Mumbai to Delhi with AI 314 on 20 September 2017 is first delayed by 2 hrs and then by 4 hrs and for any staff is so pathetic even to answer any of questions about flight details
