Air India — fraudulent booking by air india website into business class in place of economy class

I had travelled in air india on ltc from jodhpur to port blair. The route followed by me was jodhpur-delhi-chennai-port blair and reverse journey back.

I had booked my ticket through air india website multi city option after selecting economy class. However, one of the leg i. E. From port blair to chennai on 01 oct 17, i was given seat in business class in a clandestine manner. I was not warned or cautioned about it at all. The snapshot taken by me for port blair chenai route, for travel date of 01 oct 17, indicating economy class selection, is attached as annexure a. The flights shown to me were all of economy class. The invoice for all four members of the family are attached as annexure b to annexure e.

Even during boarding, though the seats were in business class, the boarding pass was of economy class (Attached as annexure f to annexure j). I took it as an upgrade given to me. I realised the erroneous booking only when i landed in chennai and checked my tickets thoroughly.

I being authorised only economy fare will not get reimbursement for business class. Thus, i will incur a substantial loss. Since the mistake occurred because of incorrect booking into business class by air india website, despite me selecting economy class and the website showing economy class (Annexure a) at the time of booking, i would like to request you that the difference in ltc fares between business class and economy class for the port blair - chennai leg for self and family may please be reimbursed from airline side.

Ps. It is also relevant to mention that none of the business class seats were occupied by any other passenger. Thus, though we occupied these seats, it was not at the cost of airline losing any business class passenger.
