[Resolved]  Aircel — vas (value added service)

I purchased aircel sim for voice calling. But right since the beginning they started sending me unsolicited smss. They also started some paid value added services without my explicit consent and began to deduct talk time for that.
Not very surprisingly, it was very difficult to stop these services and took virtually endless time to reach to their cces.
Finally, i stopped all the services today and got a confirmation message in this regard.
I want to know, why do they start such paid services without the customer's explicit consent and eat up the talktime?

We would like to inform you that we have checked the account and found that multiple value added service are active in the account. Aircel voice service was renewed on 20th Aug’17 for which Rs.3 is being charged and the same service was active since 14th Jul’17. Free music service got activated on 14th Aug’17 for which charged Rs.23 got debited. The mentioned service has been activated through an outbound call based on the consent, however we would like to inform you that services have been already deactivated from your end and we regret to inform you that we would not be able to process any waiver in this regard. And also like to suggest you to register Do Not Disturb (DND) services on your account to avoid receiving any promotional calls and SMS from our end. You can send an SMS as START 0 (for fully blocking the services) to 1909 to register for DND services which would be activated in 7 working days post sending the request.
