I have ordered for "Godrej 1 Ton Inventor AC 5 Star"

I received the product in time, however the product was packaged in March 2016, I notified Amazon, however they refuse to change / exchange / refund the product. I have called the customer service, the product has a refund policy of 10 days, however they refuse to accept exchange / refund now, stating that only if product is faulty, will exchange.
I tried to reason them, why should I accept a 3 year old product, Kindly provide a recent packaged product, to this the customer service team advised that Amazon has purchased in bulk in Sep 2016, so I have to use this, I have registered my protest, however the team is offering no solution.
Further, Amazon site says that this product was first sold by Amazon in Sep 2016, however package that I received is from March 2016, when it was not on sale on Amazon.
I feel this is a way of trapping customers & cheating them, by offloading old products. Also their refund / exchange policies are contradicting, on this product they have 10 days refund, but then a counter policy states that if you accept delivery then a exchange is not possible. This is an attempt to fraudulently offload old and non selling items.
All I am asking is to replace the product and give me a fresh product. I have tried multiple ways to contact the service teams, however they accept the issue, but do not want to resolve.
