14 feb 23 - I bought Oneplus 11 phone from amazon to gift my mother with exchange of her old iPhone.
15 feb 23 - the product was delivered after full inspection of my old device. As soon an I opened the phone box, I plugged in charge to fully charge the batter. i kept it for 15mins and the phone was super hot and when I tried to power on the device I found that the volume buttons were also not working ( not physically pressing ).
16 feb 23 - I called amazon and conveyed 3 issues with that product.
1) the box was slightly tampered ( not a much problem for me since I was interest in product not box)
2) the battery was getting hot and not giving enough backup.
3) volume up and down buttons were not working.
In response to above problems amazon executive told me that:- A technician from OnePlus will visit my door step and verify that the device is defective. after that he will submit a report to amazon and then a replacement of the device will be provided.
17 feb 2023 - OnePlus executive called me and made me install some app and run test via the app. he then made me do some changes and settings and told me to restart and reset device and told me that he will call me tomorrow.
18 feb 23 - I waited for his call but he didn't call.
19 feb 23 - he called in evening and asked me if problem was fixed. i told him no. then he told me that for the verification of the same he has 2 options:-
1) Oneplus will arrange a pickup from doorstep in 7 days and the will verify the product and return back after 7days of pickup.
2) (He recommended this one) I will personally have to visit the service center in Ghandhi Nagar, Jammu & they will verify the defect in product.
he than told me that he will call me on 21 feb EOD.
20 feb 23 - I went to the service center. i told them my problem and my reference and conversation that I had with oneplus team on 19 feb. the person in charge there told me:-
we don't have any procedure like that. i can only make a job sheet if you want to clam a warranty ( he said it will take not less than 30 days for your device to come back.). he again referred me saying that i should talk to amazon for the replacement.
i then called Oneplus and asked them about the report. they also told me that there is no such process & that you should talk to amazon for a replacement.
i again called amazon and the lady told me that :- i didn't have to visit any service center and i shouldn't give my phone to anyone for 7 days. and that the technician visit should be made at my doorstep and device should be verified in front of my eyes. she also told me to wait till 23 Feb 23 and assured me that by 23 feb she will generate a replacement request and by 26 feb 23, the replacement will be done. but she faild to give anything over the mail.
i am working as a fresher in a company and I spent my 3 months salary to buy my mother a new mobile phone.
but amazon & oneplus are referring me to each other like a football. i am mentally harassed by both amazon and oneplus. i have done every thing they have asked so far just to cooperate with them. but now I feel like i am in dark don't know what to do. i have developed anxiety issues over the last 5 days.
