Apollo bhubaneswar is the worst hospital in odisha. All are fully money minded people starting form doctors till finance/management level. When patient is admitted they tried to see how much money the patient's family can give. Then they do treatment accordingly. They will keep the patient in icu and always try to keep the patient as long as possible.
Icu is not at all clean. Whoever gets admitted in icu will have definitely infection there as they don't keep the icu neat and clean.
The doctors/nurses who are in icu are not at all good. They used to do gossip and very rarely look at patient. Even if the patient will be shivering due to ac inside icu, the nurses never look at them.
If you ask any question about your patient during the icu visit, they used to say"dont intefer in our work. We are doing our work". So i just want to know from them,
"why these stupid people talk like this? Are'nt we giving money for our patient? Why cant we know about our patient's progress???
I would say there is no good words for those people. I am telling all these as i had experienced these situation very recently...
I had admitted my father for neurological problem. He was in icu for 35 days. He was undergoing treatment under dr. Debabrata biswal, neurological department.

He is such a game player, i do not have any words for him. Initially he used to tell, our patient is recovering, you came on time.. Bla bla.. We were keeping a hope as doctor is saying. Somehow we were arranging money as they were asking 35k daily basis. Though it was very much painful for us to arrange money, but again we were keeping a hope on doctor's word.
But this idiot doctor was playing with us. He and his team were telling such good story daily basis and at the end of 35 days...
Dr. Biswal left for foreign, for his personal vacation and left my father in that critical state. For them all these are busniess.
They give more priority to their personal life compare to patient's life.

O my question to these doctorts is.. Why you guys are playing such game with patient's life? If you dont know how to do treatment for any critical condition of a patient plesae do not touch patient's body and say"no" to patient's family.
Don't play game with anyone's life...

My serious suggestion.. If anyone wants to do any treatment for any disease in odisha.. Please never ever go to apollo bhubaneswar...

        1) Patient admitted on 14/10/2016 but till today the exact nature of infection is not yet detected. Hospital informs that infection is there going by the CRP report and WBC but they have failed to detect where exactly the infection has occurred.

2)Doctor informed that as the patient was admitted in ICU infection got aggravated. Then admitting the patient in ICU could have been avoided?

        3) we were assured by the Medical Superintendent that a cross consultation or a medical board will be constituted on 24/10/2016 and a specific reason would be given to us regarding the cause of infection but the same was astonishingly not done.

        4) 17 days have gone by, the bill is increasing from 5 to 6 lakhs but still we do not know the exact location of the infection? The patient condition has deteriorated instead of improving. The result is not at all satisfactory.

        5) Therefore, we would like to know the exact reason for infection and the specific name of the bacteria which is causing the deterioration and the specific medicine to be used to cure the same. Specialised critical care infection specialist to be brought from outside and consulted. It is quite disheartening to find that a reputed name like Apollo is not able to give specific answers. The trial and error method must stop now.

        6) we would like to know as to why cross consultation or medical board did not take place initially and even after assuring us that a medical board would be constituted why was it not done? Is it not shear medical negligence?

        Best Regards

Junior doctors in oncology department in apollo hospitals, bannerghatta road think they are god and don't talk to patients properly or respond to their queries. They are not doing free service. They are charging exorbitant fees for their service and isn't the doctor's responsibility to treat/respect other human beings properly. They think they are the supreme/god.
I have seen / taken treatments abroad and they show respect to human beings, their feelings/emotions.

Paient name r k dass. Bed no114 patient is lying in the hospital from 14th. Night till today in ccu. Till now nothing is detected as to why he is not responding. It seems that the the patient is slowly going into a coma. Lp was conducted but there is no response from the patient regarding which the doctor agreed. During my conversation with the doctor tonight, doctor opined that it might take another 7 to 8 days to detect. This i find is not acceptable. A hospital like apollo taking 15 days to detect the cause is simply inexplicable. Therefore, i request for cross consultation to find out the reason by tomorrow eod. I have been writing mails on a regular basis but there is no response from your end. Failing which i will file a complaint in consumer court. It is quite irresponsible to find that a patient lying in icu/ccu for 5 days without the cause or reason being detected.
In addition to the trail mail, the undersigned hereby informs you that the lp took place yesterday. As informed nph was high, lp conducted and the test yielded not much of a complication. Doctor has advised for a repeat ct-scan post lp. But till now the case is not detected as to why the patient is not responding or reacting in-spite of all the investigations and tests showing no such deterioration.

In the meantime, the undersigned was informed that expenses has reached 136000/- till today afternoon but till now detection of the disease is not yet confirmed. Though you all are more technically equipped to know the medical reasons in these sort of cases but while spending quite a few years at madras/chennai and closely observed the modus operandi of apollo madras i have seen that they believe in cross consultation to detect and deliver fast results.

The expenses are galloping and especially in the "ward pharmacy" the amount is huge which needs to be checked and controlled. The patient was advised to be in a stroke maintenance room (5500) but has landed up in ccu bed no 114 from 15th. October 2016 on wards.

Please see to it that the case is detected, patient if not required should be removed from ccu. A specific answer regarding the cause is required at the earliest. Our esteemed doctor sudhir kumar needs to visit the patient during visiting hours so that we can get a proper update from him. This is not happening. Overall a more proactive approach is required which is completely missing from the aprt of apollo.

              Dr.SUDHIR TYAGI - ill-mannered, illiterate

My mother has had a surgery on her spine from Sudhir tyagi on 14th October. I had a small doubt regarding the surgery which I had asked from the doctor. Unexpectedly he started behaving in a very rowdy and disrespectful way as if I am not allowed to ask any questions.
He disrespected me in front of a lot of people. I'm deeply hurt as this was not expected of a hospital of such high reputation.
I would certainly not reccomend this hospital to anyone.

Please make sure that this rowdy doctor is taken care of.

My father was admitted to Apollo Madurai for a Surgery. The surgery went well and we got discharged. On the day of discharge, ideally i should get my bill but they took all the money but never gave a bill and told that they will send the bills via courier.
After one week i got a bill which was just one page. It is shameful that such a hospital doesn't provide you with a detailed break up of the bill.

I am following up with them from past one month but they are too arrogant to reply to the calls/ mails. I am really fed up of their arrogance and poor service.

I didnt ask them to reduce the amount or provide any concession. All i am asking is to provide me the detailed bill which they are not. It somewhere shows that there bills are also not genuine.

I would like to draw your attention that a sum of Rs 6500/0(Rs Six thousand Five Hundred only)has been paid twice on 17/08/2016 for an on line appointment for health check up (aphc)of Mr Asit Kumar Hazra whose appointment id is CHH21135213.First "On Line Payment" was made by BANK OF INDIA VISA INTERNATIONAL CARD NO.4340XXXX5078 at 15.23pm.Since in the portal of Apollo Hospital, Chennai the transaction was shown as failed one in spite of fact that the payment was received by Federal Bank on behalf of Apollo Hospital, I have no other alternative but to make another payment once again to book the appointment.Accordingly I made another payment at 16.11 pm.During my schedule visit to Chennai for health check up, I was verbally confirmed by one Mr DIGVIJOY BASAK of Apollo Health Check up that the amount has been refunded to BANK OF INDIA. However I have been given to understand that the amount of Rs 6500/00 has not yet been received by BANK OF INDIA.I failed to understand as to why the executive of APOLLO HEALTH CHECK UP misguided me without refunding the amount which is my legitimate demand.Pl return the amount sooner than later to avoid legal complication .

It is much disgraceful that even after lapse of 2 months, Apollo Hospital did not refund Rs 6500/00, paid twice due to technical fault. To refresh the memories, it may be added that on 17/08/2016 I have paid twice a sum of Rs 6500/00 ie I have paid Rs 13000/00 instead of Rs 6500/00 by VISA CREDIT CARD No.4340XXX5078 for booking of health check up at Apollo Health Checkup Hospital, Chennai for Mr Asit Kumar Hazra whose UHID is AC01.[protected]. Now I lost hope and consider the authorities of Apollo Hospital as businessmen rather than professionals.
At last Rs 6500/00 refunded .To popularize e-commerce, more prompt action must be initiated for refund the wrong debit.

I would like to share the recent ordeal that I and my family experienced in the handling / treatment of my late father-in-law Mr. Anil Chakraborty by one of the so-called renowned Super Specialty Hospitals in Kolkata. He was admitted to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata on the evening of 28 August 2016 that too after waiting for four hours in a critical condition. My father-in-law was a CKD Stage V patient undergoing regular dialysis since May 2014. Recently he suffered a brain stroke during sleep and went into deep coma. We have decided to treat him one of the best available possibilities in Kolkata - Apollo Gleneagles.
I was surprised to see that at the Emergency where he was received, he was a subject of study for different junior doctors and nurses. They provided us with variety of adept opinions (with their great knowledge and experience). We were repeatedly enquiring when Dr. Amitava Ghosh (under whom he was supposed to be admitted) the renowned Neurosurgeon and HOD in Apollo Kolkata would come and visit the patient. They were least bothered on our concerns and were pretty happy that they have received a live experimental / study material. If this shudders a cold wave through your spine I am helpless, but this was the reality.
Dr. Ghosh came after some time and asked us to give him a day to understand the condition of the patient. He was later admitted to the ICU that too after having a reliable source within the hospital. God knows what happens to people having such patients without any dependable confidant / channel.
The next day there was no improvement of my father-in-law and we were handed over a bill of around Rs. 1, 10, 000/- (Rupees One Lakh Ten Thousand) in less than 24hrs of his stay. When I asked about the itemized bill they provided me with the same and I found that my father-in-law have consumed medicines worth Rs. 35, 000/- in less than 24 hrs and medical tests / studies done to ascertain his condition were around Rs. 50, 000/- !!! That day I went to the ICU and asked the on duty RMO / Nurses / Medicine Representative about the same and they declined to speak on this. I really felt that I am trapped in this money minting machine but still had hope about the quality of treatment that the hospital provides. I have given a verbal instruction to the on duty staff in the ICU that before undergoing any medical tests please inform me the test name and the reason to do such a test. The RMO Dr. Chandrashish was very much upset on this and intimated / shown me the papers that I have signed, before admitting my father-in-law, wherein I have provided full authority to the doctors / staff to carry out any tests or procure any medicines deemed necessary for the patient. Please try to understand how they play with the emotions of the millions. As an Indian citizen based on the RTI, I have the right to seek information to every single penny that the Honorable Government of India spends and I cannot put forth the same right for information for my own father-in-law.
The next day during the morning visiting hours, my wife met Dr. Ghosh at the ICU and enquired about the physical status of her father. This in-human doctor, Dr. Ghosh instead of explaining her about the physical state of her father in a positive attitude, complained that why I came to the ICU in the previous day and asked the on-duty staff to inform us before any medical tests. Dr. Ghosh in his best apathetical way explained that he has spent Rupees Eleven Lakhs for his own mother in the same hospital and he cannot save her life. Just try to feel the pain he was injecting to the crying daughter in front of her father in deep coma. As if my verbal instruction will stop them to undergo any tests. They were already trying to create a shield to hide their inability to treat such critical patients. Finally he asked that he need to undergo a Lumber Puncture Test to ascertain the status of the patient. We told fine please go ahead. In between scores of other medical tests were conducted atleast on paper. For information, the Lumber Puncture Test the hospital handed me a bill of around Rs. 35, 000/-. I checked from other sources, the same test outside with all medical reports that the doctor have instructed, costs around Rs. 5000/- to Rs.5500/-. I understand that he is in ICU wherein the test need to be done in his bedside. But for this 7 times more!!! Please think.
The Super Specialty Hell (SSH) perhaps the right term to define such place, is continuously fishing out (extorting) money to the extent of Rupees One Lakh per day on an average without any minutest improvement in the condition of the patient. Everyday after the visiting hours in the evening, we tried to meet Dr. Ghosh in his OPD but to our utter dismay he spoke with us on his way to his parking without allotting a single minute in his chamber to explain the condition of the patient to the aggrieved family. Just think, we are paying lakhs of rupees for the betterment of the patient and this vicious doctor do not have the courtesy / responsibility / work ethics /professionalism to explain the situation of his patient under his treatment to the patient family. Actually if we think in a Professional / Business manner, we are his Client to whom he is answerable. And is this the right way to behave with your Clients!!! Then we understood that these guys are not prudent / knowledgeable enough to treat this case. So he is trying to shy away from legitimate questions that we may fire at him. My family really felt these doctors don’t even know their subject well. By the way in the mean time the dream test of Dr. Ghosh "Lumber Puncture" was done and the reports confirmed (when I asked for) that he has no infection. At this time I countered, the simple WBC report of the patient done from the same SSH indicates a WBC count of 16, 000 (suggesting infection in the patient's body) wherein the celebrated "Lumber Puncture" test does not indicate any infection!! When I asked this question as a layman to the on duty nurses and RMO, to my complete surprise, they dodged this question and avoided to speak with me any further on this regard.
My father-in-law was prescribed with an antibiotic which the SSH was charging around Rupees Three Thousand Six Hundred per injection three times a day. I checked the price of the same medicine on the internet it was around rupees nine hundred and when I checked the same medicine in our local medicine shop they informed that the MRP is around Rs. 1100/- but they can provide me within Rs. 1050/- per injection. I informed the same to the Medical Superintendant and she directed me to the HOD Medicines Mr. Reddy in the same SSH. When I asked Mr. Reddy about the cost difference of this medicine he handed me an excel printout (after hiding several columns!!) which indicates that the "Issued MRP" of the medicine is Rs. 3600/- I checked with Mr. Reddy what this "Issued MRP" is all about and who coined the term. Government of India?? Sorry No Answer. I checked with him whether I can procure this medicine from outside and provide the same to the doctors at which he responded in the negative.
After eight days without slightest improvement of my father-in-law (physical) and bearing this torture (mental) we checked with Dr. Ghosh will it be prudent to shift the patient to our local Nursing Home where he was under regular check-ups and dialysis under Dr. Samit Chatterjee. He was OK with this decision and advised that not much he can do to treat this patient with his knowledge and expertise. This he admitted after eight long days. We then decided to shift my father-in-law and informed the SSH authorities about the same. He was supposed to get a regular dialysis on the day prior to his discharge (we also seen the dialysis machines / consoles beside his ICU bed). The next day when we are discharging him we asked about the dialysis reports the previous day on which to our greatest surprise they nurses / RMO informed that dialysis was not done. Just think the negligence. For a CKD Stage V patient like him twice / thrice a week dialysis is a must and not doing that is just like killing / murdering the patient. They increased their scale of negligence the moment they understood that we will shift the patient and their loot on this patient will soon be over. Everybody from the young inexperienced nurses in the ICU, the on duty RMO's, the doctors, medical staff, billing / insurance handling staff everybody are religiously educated in this SSH how to become licensed Medical Looting Centre augmented with their negligence and lack of knowledge to treat patients.
My father-in-law was later shifted to our local nursing home at around 7:00 pm in the evening where he breathed his last at 9:05 am on the following day.
So I strongly recommend not coming at this SSH for treatment of your near and dear ones. Every one working here are without any moral and ethics. The technical staffs are amateur and their attitude is like they are working in NASA in some rocket science project. We do several reviews even before visiting a hotel / restaurant. And this is the question of our near ones. Please spend a minute to have a review about the SSH from the following links before admitting your patient in Apollo. The above details are strictly me and my family’s personal experience that I am sharing including but not limited to hospital, hospital authorities, doctors, staff, prevailing systems etc. Opinions expressed are solely my own and do not express the views or opinions of others.

I, Ankita Modak, a resident of Agartala, Tripura am writing this to complaint about a serious medical negligence & incompetence happened while treating my mother Ms.Sumitra Modak(Patient) in Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata.
                      Patient Details:-
                      Name: Mrs.Sumitra Modak
                      Age:50
                      W/O: Kalyan Modak
                      Referred To: Dr.Sudip Roy & Dr.Mahesh Goenka
Bed No: Cabin bed No:496, ICU:268, Super ICU:3517
                      Admission Date: 21.7.2016
                      Diagnosis:Gall bladder stone
                      Elaboration of the incident:
(A)While doing a routine checkup a full body scan was done in Agartala. The scan results were consulted and it was observed that everything was normal except a stone in gall bladder. After discussing this with my father's
company doctor(ONGC) it was finalized to carry on the diagnosis from Apollo Gleneagles hospital, kolkata and she was referred to Dr. Sudip Roy. On 21st July, 2016 my father and my mother arrived at kolkata
and my mother got admitted in Apollo under observation of Dr.Sudip Roy(General Surgeon) . Multiple MRI was done and it was observed that apart from the main stone in gall bladder there were some minute stones exist in the common bile duct.Dr.Sudip Roy then referred us to Dr.Mahesh Goenka (Senior Gastroentrologist)for ERCP because as per doctors those minute stones has to be cleared from the duct first and then the gall bladder stone. We were explained that there was a minor chance of mishap like discomfort in throat, vomiting, loose motion etc but it was never explained that it would lead to death of my mother.
                      (B) An ERCP was done on 23rd July, 2016 and the day after she got intense abdominal and back pain. Doctor(Mahesh Goenka) initially verbally admitted that while doing ERCP he did something wrong which has turned into
acute pancreatitis and he is trying to treat this. He also told that this will take some time to cure and asked us to hold patience. Pre and Post ERCP result reports were never shown to us, it was just verbally said that the minute
stones were successfully cleared. We did whatever doctors said. They then shifted my mother into ICU. We were also told that we are lucky that she didn't catch any infection and neither there was any internal bleeding.
But after few days we were told that she is now suffering from severe infection and internal bleeding and the infection count is far beyond the normal rate which the doctors couldn't control later. Her whole abdomen
got swollen, her liver, kidney everything stopped functioning. Next day they told us a surgery is required to view the internal organs and to stop the bleeding. surgery was done and they said they had stopped few bleeding points and they kept her abdomen open for 2days for future treatment, but still there was no improvement. After 2days they again took her in O.T and placed a mash around her abdomen and told us that stitch is not required as the mash has been placed
                      (C) After so many procedures they didn't show us any pre and post surgery reports only we have been informed verbally. Multiple signatures were taken from my father but they never explained for what those signatures were taken when asked they explained those were for medical formalities, we believed them as we were not literate enough in medical science and terms.
                      (D) Doctors do not discuss the condition of patient adequately with the patient party. specially Dr.Mahesh Goenka who is the senior Medical expert feels very bothered when we used to ask about my mother's detoriating
health condition. He didn't give proper amount of time to treat my mother, everyday he used to visit the ICU for few minutes and used to look around the patients and used to left the situation over assistant doctors.
When my mother used to ask about her own health condition he never replied properly, even he used to give us few seconds to discuss about my mother's condition.
                      (E) 1 month my mother was in ICU, last 12days before her death she was under ventilation. Still doctors gave us hope that they were trying there best but she was critical. Even me and my family tried to shift my mother to other hospitals but doctors told us why we want to shift the patient as she is going to recover soon.
(F)After 1month of struggle my mother expired on 20.08.2016 at 5:20pm and the death certificate states this as "Multi organ failure due to sepsis with septic shock in a patient of acute pancreatitis with cholelithiasis.
From all organs working to : acute pancreatitis, multiple organ failure and none of them are acceptable and i strongly consider this as a serious case of serious "medical negligence" and "medical incompetence". After
death of my mother, Dr.Mahesh Goenka was nowhere to be seen. Post death medical billing procedure started. And they gave us a bill of 21lakhs along with my mother's body.We were mentally and physically broken at that time. After coming back to my native state Agartala we completed her cremetion and then when we started checking the reports given after her death we found that many prescriptions and main reports were missing. This is the usual scenario in this so called reputed hospital Apollo HOSPITAL and under Doctor like Mahesh Goenka. I would like to obtain the full investigation details. Hope my request would be highly prioritized and an investigation is set up.

I have admitted my patient to Appolo Kolkta under the guidance of Dr.Mahesh Goenka.Dr.Mahesh Goenka who is the senior Medical expert feels very bothered when we used to ask about my Patient deteriorating
health condition. He didn't give proper amount of time to treat, everyday he used to visit the ICU for few minutes and used to look around the patients and used to left the situation over assistant doctors.
Again there is one Assistant doctor Dr. Aviswanath. He treat us very badly. We have to interact with him couple of times to get the status of patient.Instead of telling the status he scold us everything that why we are asking the status daily. He even don't bothered to see the reports to say the status. He don't have even 1 min to discuss the status. We are going to APollo only with hope of quality medical service and proper care.

My mother had gone for ECHO n TMT at Apollo hospital gwalior. We were given appointment for the next month since we were told that the cardiologist from delhi will come next month.

No when we visited next month, thr was no cardiologist from delhi.

But we were still Ok to get it done from cardiologist in gwalior since the brand attached was Apollo.
But the doctor thr crossed all the limits. She asked her to remove all the clothes, get absolutely naked on the treadmill. Also when we asked about availability of female nurse he denied and said I ll do everything I don't need any nurse.

Also he pressurised her to go for the test. The staff appointed on the reception also showed utter negligence.

We screamed at them and went back. But this srsly disgusting. We would like some action to be taken against theme.

Dear sir/mam, i was working as a industrial nurse in apollo life from nov 2015.i took a month of informed leave in feb 2016 due to complications of pregnancy. After completing my leave i submitted my leave letter and showing the concerned certificates i came back for joining.HR and my incharge asked me to wait for 15days to confirm the availability in MNCs and almost i waited for 2 months but no response even after calling many times.atlast they said i have beeen terminated from job during my absence. They didnt even bothered to inform me about that or sending notice before that.i feel really bad about it and it is not al fair.everyone is struggling for money to overcome their committments in life. They terminated me only bcoz i got pregnant.please make sure that it should nt happen to any other staffs like this.

Today i went to a Apollo pharmacy in Filmnagar Tin No[protected] at 08-10PM for a medicine. The doctor's prescription is for 10 tabs of Bispec 10mg. Pharmacy person said i have to take 15 tabs strip completely which costs me more. He denied to give 10. There are no tabs available in other medical shops in that area and caused me lot of agony and inconvenience.

                                    Dear sir,
After undergoing numbers of pathological and other cardiac and pulmonary test for more than ten days, (Leave alone the money spent on it) dr. Ram gopalakrishnan has prescribed the following drugs:

                                    I) t. R-cinex 600
                                    Ii) t - combutol 800
                                    Iii) t - benadon 40
Iv) t - pyzina 750 (2 tabs daily) (Scan copy of the prescription is attached where with)

Now the able doctor did not explained about the chances of increasing of i) uric acid, which may effect the kidneys, due to consumption of pyzina, as well as changes of lever to be effected by gandish, and the eyes are also can be effected due to consumption of those drugs,

As a matter of fact after consuming those prescribed drugs which are advised by the doctor of such a big corporate hospital, my i) uric acid has gone to 14.76, ii) my lever got effected turns to jandish, and eyes are badly effected.

Need your kind advice what should i do now???

I had paid my bill (Amount rs1610) through icici debit card at appolo hospital but due to some technical issue they cancelled the transaction and made a new bill, but the amount which had been cancelled not transferred to my account. I have been approached to both icici executives and appollo hospital personnel. But both are saying the problem is not from their side. And blame to each other. But as a customer, i do not know to whom i should approach. It's been near to one month. So need your attention to this matter asap.

Hospital management not intimated on my uhc eligibility of room rent and i loose 22000 from my insurance and i paid from my packet. Not supportive. Hospital should support patients. Even though i got approval for 49 k for initial bill, in final bill they have given me only 28 k. All because of the room selected is having rent greater than 2500.
