[Resolved] Glen India / Gt 1046 — After Sale Service/replacement | |||
I have a worst experience with Branded Glass Cook Top (GT – 1046) of "Glen India". I have purchased it on October 28, 2012 after paying a considerable amount and it’s hardly been 6 months that on May 06, 2013, it's glass blasted in really a pathetic and horrible way. My wife was cooking dinner and all of a sudden, we heard a sound.. “boooom”., it was like something blasted, we could not understand what has happened than we noticed that glass of Cook Top started melting and full glass broken from inside. It was really very hard to believe that a Company like “Glen India” can manufacture such products which are really dangerous and hazardous to health of anybody. It may cause serious hurt to my wife or my kid but thanks to that mighty God that nothing serious has happened. On complaining regarding this, I am told by the Glen People that it’s not their fault and it may happen because it’s a glass. Surprised by their response, I approached the seniors and told them that if that is the case than it should be informed to the consumer/customer at the time of purchase which was never told even on asking the same. “I specifically asked for this at the time of purchase and I was told no it can never happen.” Anyway, than after my conversation with the spoke person of Glen India, I am confronted with below stated surprising facts:- 1. I am told that this Glass is not under warranty and I have to pay for replacement of the same. 2. I request them, if it is so risky than in that case I don’t want this cook top and please replace it with stainless steel cook top which is of less value, in respond to this, I am told that this again not possible. 3. I asked them what is / where is my fault, they said, they can’t do anything and maximum they can give me discount if I purchase new Cook Top of their Company; 4. I asked them in such a scenario, in any case I am at loss that either I have to bare cost of broken glass or to pay for new cook top (offered with Discount), they responded “Yes”; 5. I told them in how many days my problem will be resolved, I was told minimum 2-3 days, so that means I have to manage cooking on my own and they are least concerned with that; Being a lawyer, It’s my moral duty towards society to bring such astonishing and shameful after sale service of the Company like Glen India for their consumer. Today I am feeling like burgled by a brand like Glen India. I am unable to understand that why Glen India is selling such products, which are so dangerous for anybody’s life.
