Asian Institute Of Gastroenterology — Lost my Father due to AIG Gachibowli DR Nageshwar reddy

Address:Gachibowli AIG Hospitals
Website:aighospitals.com

My dad was suffering from diarrhea problem and we went to get the treatment at AIG Hospital on February 18th 2020 because it is known to be the best gastrology hospital. We took appointment with DR Nageshwar Reddy and have been directed to visit Gachibowli AIG Hospital. We took dad to AIG Hospital thinking doctors are well experienced and can diagnose the problem, with correct medication and treatment. Dr Nageshwar Reddy met us only for first time consultation and after that, the case was completely assigned to junior doctors who are not experienced and treat the patient as a subject in their language.
It's very saddened to say that my Dad passed away due to negligence of the doctors at AIG.(Gachibowli). Dr. Nageshwar Reddy suggested us to get admitted for performing only liver biopsy. After getting him admitted they did liver biopsy and at the same time without getting acknowledgement or informing the family members/attender (Dr.Jaya Ram Krishna)took self-decision and performed multiple surgeries laparoscopy of (Mesentric node, Aortocaval node, Liver Biopsy, Faliform Ligament, Omentum). My father cried with immense pain due to multiple surgeries operated at the same time. Dr Jayarama Krishna stepped out saying he would be fine and the pain will last only for a half-hour but my father had become very sick after multiple surgeries and was unable to eat food and they have created dependency to visit the hospital again .It could be clearly visible that just because we do not have a medical insurance Jayarama Krishna have taken his own decision to perform multiple surgeries without family members acknowledgment.

After a weeks’ time when biopsy results came it was normal as there was no sign of any disease in the reports. They gave TB medication and discharged from the hospital saying it's a protocol to give TB medication. Sisters at AIG mentioned that if there is any kind of severe sickness symptoms observed they told us to come back to AIG and get admitted. After we started TB medicines dad stopped taking food and was vomiting all the time, severe motions, stomach pain and the sickness has severely increased. DR Nageshwar reddy group of doctors did not give proper medication for diarrhea and discharged him. Doctors at AIG are responsible for my father's severe illness. They gave Dynapres tablet to dad due to which his BP levels came down and also severe stomach pain started daily after taking the tablet. For 2 days we managed at home and finally we rushed him to AIG Hospital early morning at 3:00 AM. They got him admitted in ICU and were still giving him TB medication and his health became worse. Doctors at ICU say his BP became low due to Dynapres tablet. Is this the way doctors give medication to the patient. Dad's health was deteriorating day by day and other symptoms like uncontrollable stomach pain, vomiting has increased and his health became worse. Dad's health was deteriorating day by day. Other symptoms like uncontrollable stomach pain, vomiting has increased then they shifted him to room. We were told by the duty doctor that Dr Nageshwar Reddy discussed in the board and suggested that they planned to do single balloon enteroscopy and bone marrow test for my father. He was not in a condition to bare another biopsy due to severe sickness. Myself, mom and brother told Dr.Rakesh that his physical health condition is not good to undergo enteroscopy and requested Dr.Rakesh to stop everything for a month so that he will become normal when he came for rounds but he spoke to my dad directly and convinced him to undergo enteroscopy. My father was sick and not even in a condition to make a decision. After myself and family members insisted several times not to perform any surgeries but Rakesh doctor forcefully convinced my father saying he will get the correct medicines and performed the enteroscopy biopsy. When I asked the doctor will they cut any part in this enteroscopy he clearly told there wont be any cutting and camera will be going in the small intestine to check for abnormalities but they took biopsy samples which is also mentioned in the enteroscopy reports. After enteroscopy, my dad's health condition became worse. They discharged him saying everything is fine and also removed the bag where the infection water from his body was getting collected after the laparoscopic surgery. They knew that he had ascites and gave a report saying "mild Ascites" but they didn't give him any medication for ascites and discharged him. As we didn't know the medical terms and we followed their medication and after a month or so his ascites became severe and we got him admitted in KIMS Kondapur where they removed the infection water and all his body organs (liver, lungs, kidneys) failed and died due to septic shock.

This septic shock was due to the multiple surgeries performed at AIG hospital without our permission that led to the accumulation of infection water in the stomach which AIG didn’t give any medication after the surgery on the day he was discharged.

Doctors at AIG Gachibowli did not care to give proper medication and kept misguiding us all the time. We as a family regret our mistake and lost peace of mind for having trust in AIG hospitals Gachibowli and losing my father for no reason. We also have noticed the charges on many items which were not used and part of the bill like thermometer and other items. They performed endoscopy and colonoscopy several times for my dad even when nothing was positive in these tests. After spending close to 10 Lakhs we lost our beloved father. Is this the way the Indian healthcare system should work? This situation needs to be addressed in whatever way possible and justice should be given.
