Audi India — Audi Etron power management failure

Address:Whitefield Bangalore

I have purchased Audi Etron Sportsback in the month of August, 2022 from Bengaluru dealer (Jubiliant motors). The pre-sales was most amazing experience, everyone is on their toes to answer any questions and even the sales manager influenced me to cancel my Mercedes booking and go with Audi. The whole time the pitch was Audi has the best customer care. For about 6 months I had great experience driving the car. All is fine when there is no issues with the car. I had been contacted many times to give feedback and even did a promotion videos to show my appreciation of the car and the dealers personal involvement.

All hell break loose only when a issue pops up with the car. On 21st Feb 2023, I was driving my car around MG road and suddenly there was a battery symbol warning pops up. I immediately contacted the dealer and mentioned about the warning. I was clearly told not to worry and continue driving, the warning will go away. I even have a whatsapp conversation with the manager. I did move further and on Residency road my car just stopped in the middle of the busy road. I was able to move to the curb side and park the car. From that day till today it is just downhill experience for me. Lots of promises from lots of people in Audi india and dealers service management team, none were honoured or the worst part is they still think they are doing me a favour. Oh God! its been 2 months and no one knows when my car will be ready and if the problem can be solved.

2 months back, when the car was towed to the service center in Bengaluru, I was assigned a customer relations manager. Initially I thought it is good to have a one point contact and get updates. Later I realised the sweet talks from customer relations is to just cover up the major issue with the car. BTW no one still have not figured out what the issue is. After 20 days or so, I was told the car will be delivered by March 15th. When i got furious, I was connected to country head customer care of Audi India. Again the same game to just cover up and delay the delivery. I spoke to multitude of people from Audi India, some don’t even know what the problem is and just wanted to console me to wait few more days. It is just a coward way to address the underlying issue with in the Audi.

After more than 45 days, I was told the car got fixed. Some control unit from Germany is installed and they are just doing some checks. I did not believe them and went to service center. After going there, I just asked them to start the car and move. Everyone at the service center says they are not authorised to do that. I tried to reach out to so many people from customer care, to technical guys to the dealership CEO. No one even bothers to give me any clue what is happening. I was told to go home and they will deliver in 2 days. That will be by 12th of April. I was such a naive guy, I just came back. Today is 21st April 2023. I do not have car and Audi is asking for more time. I have requested in messages and in email to replace my car. This problem sounds to me as a recall. What does it take to make Audi understand my situation. I am not so rich to buy more such expensive cars, but I thought this one will be my pride to ride. All my friends and family now doubt my decision to buy such a luxury EV. They could be right and I might have made a mistake.

I purchased my car for Rs 1.35 Crores thinking that Audi can be trusted blindly. What was I thinking at that time was a utter mistake. I been requesting Audi to replace me with a new car, they started talking about policy of warranty. Not sure what warranty says, but a car been in service center for 2 months without any clue of what the issue is really surprising. If Audi’s diagnosis of problem is so weak and they claim to be the best. I cannot believe anything from them ever.

I been behind all the heads of Audi India who are trying to sympathise with me to kindly connect me to the Audi india Country head. I been told, the call will be arranged soon from last 15 days. I just want to ask the Audi India head, what is the customer care definition to him and how long is too long to keep my car to fix it.
