Dear Sir, I had a policy no. 59889200 under CAPITAL UNIT GAIN SIZE ONE commenced from 13th Aug 2, 2007 with yearly premium of Rs 25, 000/= for which I got the subsequent yearly premiums submitted through the Bajaj Allianz agent on dates 12th Sept 2008 and 4th Sept 2009 respectively through cheques. Recently when I surrendered the policy, the total amount I received was subjected to lapsed policy restoration charges / penalty of about Rs.11, 000/= each for the two successive premium years. This was shocking for me as I had never before got any information (such as in the premium receipts) nor intimation by postal or any other recognized means, regarding lapse (or restoration) of my policy due to delay in creditng premium. What is more shocking is that the company has done this deduction arbitrarily as in some policy-holders' cases it has condoned delay of 26 days and made no such cuts.It is therefore brought to your notice with the request that the penalty arbitrarily charged from my maturity amount be returned to me at the earliest.
