Dear Sir/ Madam

My name is Chitti Babu from Vijayanagar, Bangalore. Last Friday i.e., on 09-Dec-2011 around 10PM I had boarded a 335E volvo bus from Kundanahalli Gate to Majestic. Along with me I was carrying a white plastic bag in which there was a new pair of safety shoes. The bus reached Majestic around 11 PM & by slip of mind I forgot to collect the plastic bag which I had kept below my seat. I only realised after reaching my home around 12PM. I do admit my mistake for my absence of mind. Immediately I called the BMTC customer care number [protected] from my mobile number [protected] & informed the customer care executive by name Santosh & requested him to pass on the message to the nearby Depot No. 7. To my shock there was a very rough & rude reply from the customer care executive saying that if he informs the bus depot about this, they would spit him on his face. I was really taken aback by the kind of words used & response received from a customer care executive who was supposed to talk to the customers politely & gently, which are the basic qualities of any customer care executive whatsoever. He even threw a challenge to me saying that I can take all his details & do whatever I want & adding to the insult, he even disconnected my call. I again redialled the number & the same customer care executive lifted the call & upon hearing my name, he again disconnected the call. I was totally confused by the behaviour of a customer care executive that too of a Government run body. I’m very unhappy with this incident. If they couldn’t resolve my issue, atleast, they could have spoken to me in a proper & decent manner. I believe Bangaloreans are the most soft spoken people when compared to any city in India, not like Mr. Santosh – Customer Care Executive(BMTC). Hope BMTC can step up to this & improve their service to their commuters in a better way.

Regards
Chitti Babu R

The major problem of bmtc people behaving rude are I feel they are uneducated and don't have the humanity. There is no use of complaining because all this customer care is for formalities where they don't know the meaning of it. sir please if this has reached you inform the people involved in bmtc to behave descent and not like third class people.

    Sir,

Bus from banashankari to Domlur bridge bus no. 201, timing 7.50 am at BTM layout water tank. There was argument with bus conductor for change
i gave him 100 Rs. fare was Rs.11 in return he gave me Rs. 80/- asking for 1 re change to give another Rs.10/-. But unfortunately i didnt had a 1 re change. He argued for 1 re and refused to give 9 Rs. change or he wanted to tie up with other person so that i can take from them which was not possible.

Infact this is not a complaint, consider it as a suggestion to keep enough change with conductors to aviod such arguments.Because sometimes it is difficult to carry exact change and travel. And also conductors to behave and co-operate properly with the genuine customers.

Dear Sir, I can see a lot of buses via Koramangala to Domlur like 201D,M,Q,K1,MPEF,8...etc. Why there is only a single bus via Koramangala to ITPL (411E) that too it pass via Kormangala in the early morning 6'Oclock
Either you change the timing which is convinient for employees say after 8 AM or add more buses in this route

        Hi,

        We the resident of J.P.Nagar 7th Phase, R.B.I.Layout find it extremely difficult to get a bus at peak hours (9:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M) from J.P.Nagar 7th Phase/JambuSavariDinne to Jayanagar 4th Block/Market/Mejestic and also from 7:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M from Jayanagar/Market/Mejestic to J.P.Nagar 7th Phase/JambuSavariDinne.

As there is very less buses at this route especially at the peak hours, buses will be over crowded and people wont get place to stand.

It will be easier if there are frequent buses from the above said Destination at peak hours for every 15 mins, this will benefit many commuters.
Auto drivers charge exorbitantly and it becomes difficult for those who commute daily. It will be more convenient if BMTC provides Volvo bus too.

So, I kindly request BMTC authorities to consider the issue and act on the same.

        Thanks & Regards,
        Anjali

          respected sir
on nov 18 2011 i was travelling from marthalli to kadgudi in the BMTC bus numbered KA1 FA1152.
i boarded the bus at marthalli bridge at 7:30 pm and took a ticket to kadgudi .i gave him 12 RS and as the fare was 13 i gave him 5 rs .i waited for the change and i thought he would give me .but he passed away from me and i called him politely to give me 4 rs.but he started abusing me in kannada as i can undestand little kannada , i replied him that i could help him if he could speak to me in telugu hindi or english .i heard him talking in hindi. he could have spoke to me in hindi atleast, but he didnt. he started abusing in english and kannada that this is kannada and you have to speak in kannada only. well did i mis behave with him or did i abuse him .no nothing,

i know india is a land of different cultures. its a shame on the bmtc drivers speaking to the commuters this way.is this the culture , is this the manner he behaves with the commuters .

i very sincerely urge you take a severe action on such conductors in BMTC.

          BMTC — Discrimination

          Hi Sir,

This is Adithya. Today i.e., on[protected] I was boarding in G3 bus where the checking people got into the bus and asked me for my college ID but I had left it in other bag so my pass was retained by the checking people.(this was my mistake I agree). But in the same bus a lady with a KSRTC pass given for the staff's children had a route from Tumkur to Bangalore and was eligible to travel only in KSRTC but then also that lady's pass was not sized. So I cross questioned the TC asking that why did you leave her without fine or seizing it instead I got a answer saying that it was a staff's children pass so she could travel anywhere. Now what about me i have paid Rs 4420 and my pass is held but an invalid pass is exempted. Why is this discrimination and some one help me in filing a complaint. my number is [protected] .

            Dear Sir,

I have experienced one incident with conductor in bangalore city bus or it is regulare practice in buses.

I was travelling with my family (wife + 2 kids) towards Shivajinager from Banaswadi.

I board the bus from Banaswadi (bus stop Near Uttam sagar hotel, banaswadi) at 3.50 pm on 06/Nov/2011 (Bus no. is

KA-01 F 8932). i aksed conductor to give me two day pass and two half ticket for Indian Express. He gave me two day

passes worht Rs. 45/- each and alos gave me two half ticket worth Rs. 11/- each. so, all together i have paid him

Rs. 112/- ( 45+45+11+11). I asked conductor that how much will it cost for half ticket then he replied that Rs. 11/-

each. then I aksed for full ticket rate then he replied that it is Rs. 13/- I agrued with him that it should be Rs.

6/- or Rs. 7/- then he said that the rate has increased. so, I have stopped arguring with him and i note down the

bus no. I got surprised when i Saw the tickets which he gave us. i felt that he gave us used ticket why i strongly

belive this because both ticket has different serial no. (ideally it should be in series) and some thing is written

on back side of the ticket. normally conductor used to wirte balance amount on back side of the ticket.

I spoke to KBS control room and they told me to give complaint via email.

I think some thing is going wrong in bangalore city buses. and its my duty to bring to your notice.

Please let me know that what type of action will be taken against this conductor.

Here I am sending the copy of both day passes and both tikcets for your better understanding and further action.

            Hi
I am completelly agree with the complaint becoz in every alternate day i am facing the same problem some time conductors misbehaves sometime they are taking money and not giving tickets and any change also like if i am giving rs.5 then they are not issuing any tickets and not giving any money back..it is happing with me in every alternate day..sometimes if we are giving money like Rs 50 or more then also they are not witing any balanced money on the back of the ticket if i am asking then they will shout and tell wait i dont have change they never gives back those amounts, even if i try to ask then he wont come infront becoz of excess rush its not possible to reach him..and sometimes conductors are abusing and commenting in kanada with bad words not even only with the male but with lady also, if they understand that we dont know kanada..yesterday in 401M same thing happnd with me, i took the tiket from deepacomplex(nagarbhavi) to the stop before BDA complex i gave rs.4 for that becoz i had went there earlier in rs.4 so i took ticket i knw that it comes under papready palya stop.but next stop to deepacomplex conductor start shouting to get down i was with my husband who was in last seat he asked what happend to me, i try to told him about this, but before to this conductor started misbehaving with me.he started telling something in kanada and hindi (chal bhag bhag...ja-ja etc) when i was getting down from the bus.and when my husband asked conductor that how much for the next stop, or what is the name of next stop, he started shouting and abusing and then fighting.there only one police was there he came and he was near to beat my husband with his stick without listening anything..we felt very ashmed with this incident.becoz we dont know kanada is it the fault, that police should atleast have heard about the problem.but becoz we are from the other state other than kanada he started torturing to my husband..

I had taken a bus on 5th November from Anekal to Majestic. Bus No KA01 FA 2034. One of the passenger had got in and he was from other state, he had asked for a 45 rs daily pass but the conductor was insisting him to buy a ticket instead of pass, just because the gentlemen was not able to communicate in kannada the conductor flung the 100rs note which he had give. I mean i don't understant wat are these type of conductors upto.

I think the conductors and drivers should be taught a lesson on how to behave with the passengers. It's only because we travel in buses that these slugs have their jobs in place.

                DEAR,

BANGALORE BMTC BUS ROUTE 37 VIDE NO. KA 01 F 2445 HAS NOT STOPPED AT BUS STOP AT KASTURBA ROAD IN FRONT OF SUNDARAM MOTORS BUS STOP. (ON THE WAY TO SRINAGARA), ON 13/10/2011/THURS AT 18:03 HRS.,

I STARTED RUNNING TILL THE NEAREST SIGNAL TO CATCH THE BUS AND THE BUS WAS AT THE SIGNAL, AND I REQUESTED THE CONDUCTOR, WHO WAS CHATTING WITH THE DRIVER NEAR THE DRIVER AND NOT BOTHERED TO ANSWER ME PROPERLY AS TO WHY HE HAD NOT STOPPED IN THE BUSSTOP. AND RELUCTANTLY, HE DID NOT EVEN OPEN THE HYDRAULIC DOOR FOR ENTERING, EVEN AFTER SEEING ME SWEATING FOR CATCHING THE BUS.

I BELIEVE THAT BMTC RUNS TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PUBLIC, AND THE BUS CONDUCTOR / DRIVER ARE TAKING LAW / RULES / POLICIES INTO THEIR HANDS AND THE AUTHORITIES ARE NOT INFORMED FOR PROPER ACTION.

IN ADDITION TO, THERE IS A VERY RARE FREQUENC;Y OF BUS ROUTE 37 AND IF THIS HAPPENS, WHAT WILL BE THE PUBLIC FATE PLEASE?

                  BMTC Conductor misbehaved:
                  Hello,
I'm Ananya Biswas Working as a software engineer in a company based at KTPO.

I travelled using bus number KA 01 FA 1748 from Kundanahalli gate to KTPO. The conductor was pushing in every one and letting in more girls from the front gate. He pushed me once and I tried to move in but I had a laptop bag and could not move anymore. Then he started yelling and pushing me continuously for 5 to 6 times and was continuously shouting. The driver also started yelling.

I told him to keep his hands away and to tone down his voice as I am not travelling free of cost. Then the driver stopped the bus and the conductor started to push me out and told me to get down. Since the bus was blocking the road, some cars at the back started honking and they had to move the bus. The conductor still tried to push me out of the moving bus. Finally the driver started laughing and asked the conductor to leave me.

I told them that I would complain to which the conductor said that call up the call center people & take the number from me if required and started laughing.

I want some action to be taken against the conductor so that they at least learn to behave.

                  Thanking you,

                      Dear Sir,

Route G2 bus number KA01-F-2220 is cheating the BMTC and the people. Yesterday, on 12 Sep 2011 at about 7.30pm at Koramangala Bus depot, the bus was travelling empty towards Sarjapur Road. When I boarded the bus, the conductor told that the bus only goes till Kormangala first block, although it was clearly displayed on the bus that it was supposed to go till Sarjapur Road. Since it was raining, I was not well and was in a hurry, I boarded another G2 bus which came there about the same time.

In the other bus, other people narrated the same story and complained about this being a frequent behavior i.e Two G2 buses will be empty with minimal capacity and people travelling to Sarjapur have to be cramped into just one bus carrying three times its capacity.

I also doubt if the drivers do not travel the entire distance, do they make a profit by selling the diesel, since the alloted diesel will not be used.

BMTC , bangalore — Rude behavior of conductor

                        Hi,

I have boarded a BMTC city bus at koramangala 1st block (171 stop). I tender Rs 10 for availing Rs 5 ticket( From 171 stop to Sony world junction). But he did not give the ticket and shouting at me with nonsense words.

Finally I fight for the ticket and he issued a ticket to me.

But worst thing is that he is scolding me for asking the ticket.

I asked him to give his controller's number and he dint give.

                        So is this complaint.

Please take actions for better BMTC and better service to public.

                        BMTC — Rude conductor behavior

                        Dear Sir,

I am a sincere tax paying citizen of Bangalore employed in an IT firm. I regularly use BMTC Volvo buses for commuting.

In volvo buses on my route, one would commonly see well behaved IT crowd. Norm is to expect an equally well behaved conductor. However many a time, the conductors behave very rudely towards passengers. I have encountered situations where the conductor has rudely ordered passengers to get out of bus for as reasons as small as not having change. Passengers do not deserve such treatment when they are willing to pay the fare and travel.

Most recent experience was today in bus number 500C from ITPL to Banashankari. It was a lady conductor behaving rudely with all reapectable passengers. I urge the responsible officials to advice such consuctors about proper conduct.

                        Thanks,
                        Manu

                          Hi,

Volvo buses are taking huge fares and not putting AC in the bus. Daily i am travelling from Banashankari to ITPL in VOLVO. Nowadays the VOLVO service has become VOLVO ATYACHAR SERVICE. Yesterday-7-sep-2011 (it happens daily) at 7:00 PM from ITPL to banashankari 500C(in banashankari he changed to 500P) bus, the bus was fully packed. He has not put the AC. he has just put the fan(blower) butnot AC. when we asked conductor to increase / put on AC he gave the vague answer saying it cannot be increased. Travelling two hours in AC bus without AC is horrible and suffocating.Normal BMTC buses are better than your VOLVO ATYACHAR service. atleast they have windows.

either BMTC should give training to drivers on how to put AC not just fan or stop your VOLVO ATYACHAR service..Don't think passenger as fools who cannot differentiate between blower and AC.

Also, there is no place where we can give complaints about this things / drivers / conductors. even if wegive complaint no action will be taken by concerned authority(mightbe due to corruption..might be concerened authorities taking bribe for not taking action).

                            Sir,
I faced embarrassment when approached the counter at Bus stand, Yelahanka(5th Phase) to seek information on student bus pass for my child. The staff (Mr Murthy) on hearing Hindi/English, asked to either converse in Kannada Language or see the information on board. The board was also in Kannada Language. On re-approaching, instead of providing information, he insulted and manhandled me as I was non-Kannadiagn. Even no one could make me to understand my fault. I returned back with the feeling of frustration and humiliation in my own country which I am serving with full dedication.

Hi, This is srikanth working in wipro in EC.
I have a complaint against the lady conductor who misbahaved with me on 4th aug.
I get up to the bus from EC phase1. At that time the bus was full of passengers. So I didn't see the conductor near by. So I thought I will take ticket when the croud gets less in numbers.
Then I got seat, So I went there and sit. Then she came near me. Myself called her and took the ticket.
                                See our conversation:
Me: "Give me a ticket to WEIPRO"
Conductor: "From where did u get into the bus?"
                                Me: "EC phase 1"
Conductor: "You should take the ticket immideatly"
Me: "What do u mean by that? I should come to you and take ticket???!!! That is your resposibility to come to the passangers and issue the tickets"
Condu: "The bus was crowded, how can I come and issue ticket to you?"
Me: "Then how can you expect me to come and get the ticket with that crowd"???
Condu: "That is your resposibility to take the ticket"
Me: "Govt is paying you to do this job. Not me"
Condu: Why are you talking to me like that"
Me: I have already taken the ticket right. Then why are you continuing this?
This is not Irland to get the ticket ourselves with an automated machine.
Conduc: (Again repeating the same) You should have travelled with out ticket everyday.
Me: What the hell you think of yourself.
I am not such a kind of person. Do you think I will construct new buldings with this 10rs..?
Conduc: Was continued with some stupid conversation..

This is the serious problem we are facing with this Volve bus conductors. 356C it will reach wipro by 9-45am exactly.
We are giving the money and ourselves getting this kind of problems.
                                What a sh*##**## thing happening..??!!
Resolve this problem and suspend that conductor.

                                Complaint marked as Resolved
I have a complaint against a bus conductor of BMTC bus with number (K801-F8743, route no. 300).The incident happened on 21 Aug 2010 at 9:15 PM between bamboo bazaar and coles road. I got inside the bus at AKS convention hall intersection red light and asked the conductor for a ticket for coles road. The conductor took five rupees from me and didn’t give me the ticket immediately. I thought he was busy in something and will give me the ticket soon. After 5 mins I asked the conductor again to give me the ticket. To me shock he refused to give me the ticket( seems like he wanted to keep the ticket money with himself by not giving me the ticket). When I asked again he returned my five rupees and asked me to get down of the bus. I did argue with the conductor but he didn’t listen and forced me out of the bus. I could have fought with him but then I stopped myself as I felt it would be better to raise a complaint in a civilized way rather than making it nasty inside the bus.

I have noticed the other BMTC bus conductors are also practicing this thing of not giving the ticket to the commuters even though they do accept the money.

                                Please do the needful.

Right Srikkant, this is an alternative way to pull out money from the pocket of passengers. I good to see that you have posted a complaint. The same thing you would have done in a police station nearby.
First of all please refer your complain logged date it is 3rd aug and the incident has happened of the 4th how come ? totally fake and trying to spoil the image of the women conductor . good you posted your dialogue with her. It clear mentioned that she asked you as to why ticket was not purchased earlier, your reply was very arrogant. just like a spoilt brat ! she came to you hence you asked for a ticket . What if the ticket checker had come before and you were caught ticketless, would you tell him she did not give so you did not take. No na !, it is your responsibility as a worthy citizen of the state you represent and the country . Many times i have observed here in my state Maharashtra, even in city of mumbai honest citizen make efforts by passing the money through the people in the line inspite of the heavy crowd till the ticket conductor and ensure that they get their ticket. Is this not honesty in showing the government we care ? yes it is. What right have you to tell her employer to suspend her ? She can do so to your employer also saying you misbehaved with her, but she did not do that be grateful, she must have left you as there may be many nuisances like you she encounters everyday. She has proved her good character by her fitting replies. Mr. mtechbiomed it is alternate way of stealing the government money not pulling out money. The police complain would only put your friend in the lockup for rude behaviour with female employee. Imagine your sister in her place and tell everyone whether you would expect her to push through the crowd with every male traveller trying to touch her in all places, just to come to you to give the ticket. What a beastly thought ? Best sugestion, please buy a vehicle and travel . Dear forum, please scrap this complain .and if possible travel by the mentioned bus and teach the guy a lesson on behaviour aspect. Send him to Wipro Pune, the HR here will teach him manners . Thanks for the patience in reading the mail.

                                  Hi,
Today Aug-03-2011, at around 9:00 am, I dropped my wife to her office in electronic city, infosys gate-7, and I was about to start off my bike, suddenly a BMTC VOLVO bus with registration number KA01-F-3974 passed rubbing by bike on the right, I was lucky to balance not to fall. Even a little more impact would have resulted in a terrible accident. There was no reason why the BMTC driver could not see. I was shocked by his rash driving.

                                  Please take necessary action.

                                  Thanks,

I completely agree with this complaint..

Other vehicles are forced to brake in narrow/moderately wide roads when a Volvo
                                  passes by.

Volvo's switch lanes and brake really hard.
                                  There is no discipline whatsoever.

I am a frequent Volvo traveller myself and have noticed drivers drinking water
and munching on food while driving.

They should try and understand that all vehicles on road are not of
Vovlo's vehicular specifications and the rest also deal with slow moving traffic.

                                    Hi,
My name is Pallavi. I have traveled in the BMTC Vajra service since last week between Ragi Gudda and J. P. Morgan chase on Outer Ring Road. Today however, since I was late to work I took a normal BTS bus that said Tin Factory. While buying the ticket I asked for J. P. Morgan Chase, the conductor, a lady, gave me the ticket and said it's called Kadubeesanahalli not J.P. Morgan Chase. I understood that as the name of the stop being Kadubeesanahalli. I accepted the ticket and sat down.
I was not aware that these stops are not the same. When we neared J.P.Morgan Chase, since the bus did not stop, I asked the driver if he would stop so I could get off, he told me there is no designated stop there and I would have to get off in the next stop. This I have no problem with but I looked at the conductor and asked her why she did not tell me this when I was boarding the bus, she told me I did tell you it was Kadubeesanahalli. But I said I did not know these stops were not the same since it was my first time on a BTS. She said she couldn't care if I was that stupid. I had to get off earlier to get to my work place. She then proceeded to make fun of the fact that I was listening to my mobile so I was probably deaf and that I was blind as well. She then went on to call me a "###" in Kannada and when I was getting off the bus threatened to teach me a lesson. Nobody including the driver intervened when this was happening and after I did get off the bus at Marath halli bridge, she still proceeded to call me some obscene words in Kannada while everyone just looked on.
This has been a severely traumatic experience for me and I am still shaking as I write this. I will consider legal action against the conductor if BMTC does not take action against her. The bus drove off too fast for me to note down its route number. But the vehicle number is KA 01 FA 1465. I think the route number is D 12. I got on the vehicle at around 10 40 AM at Ragi gudda and got off around 11 30 AM at Marathalli bridge today Aug, 1 2011.
I am genuinely unaware of bus stops since the Vajra buses don't really announce the stops and the conductors are courteous enough to tell you when your stop is nearing.
I am willing to identify the conductor if necessary. As I said I am considering legal action as well as talking to the press on how this is such a menace to society.
Please let me know how to proceed.
                                    Thanks,
                                    Pallavi

BMTC & Vajra Buses — Rash Driving

The following buses were driving very rashly on the Old Airport Rd (heading towards Marathalli) dtd 14th Oct 08, Approx 8.50 AM. Both the buses were racing & were changing lanes without any regard to other vehicles around & even scraped past my car in the process. The 1st bus in this context is a Vajra Bus No KA 01 FA 1279. The 2nd bus in context is a BMTC bus No KA 53 1788. This utter disregard of traffic rules must not be tolerated.

BMTC — Conductors don't give tickets and they are abusive

On 18th Dec, 2009, I had traveled in a BMTC bus where in the conductor refused to give me my bus ticket till the end. My ticket charged 6Rs and I didn't have the exact change so gave a 100 Rs note. He was already complaining and grumbling that he didn't have change to give me and returned 95rs. I knew he wouldn't give me the ticket and found a 1 re coin in my purse and told him to give me the ticket. He gives a terrible look and signals me to wait. I stressed again saying take this one re and give me the ticket. He stared at me so rudely as though i did some crime. In fact i told him that there might be a ticket checking so give me the ticket and he coolly brushed passed me and said no one would check. These conductors are so argumentative and don't know how to speak. When there is a ticket checking, the authorities catch the passengers and don't say anything to the conductors. Conductors don't give us the ticket not that the passengers don't want to take a ticket. This is like a regular harassment in the bus.I would like the officials to do something about this. KA 01 FA1868 was the bus I traveled on 18th Dec 2009 from Vaidehi to Kundhalahalli Colony (Bus number was a 335 series, not sure).
this is a routine affair for the staff of btmc volvo bus drivers and conductors on itpl route
I would like to bring to notice the shameful behavior of BMTC conductor who was abusive towards fellow passengers, refused to cooperate, talked rashly with a female co passenger. When I asked for change in return, the conductor refused to offer the change(he could have told before hand he did not have change in which case a passenger might not have boarded the bus) and started abusing. He refused to talk/did not know hindi(Official and national language of India) with another passenger and again started abusing when he asked for pending Rs.10 in return. There was one more incident in which the conductor just gave a Rs.100 note and told 2 passengers to settle the change amount among st them and when both passengers refused they were forcefully made to get down two stops after their scheduled destination and needless to say he still did not budge and did not give away the change. Yes all this happened during my short trip from cosmos-kundanahalli to bellandur. It will be a disgrace on BMTC's part if such individuals are let off without any punishment. The crew should be counselled on how to behave with fellow passengers.BMTC already has a negative image due to such corrupt individuals and if no action is taken it will only further consolidate BMTC's deteriorating image and along with it spoil Bangalore's image in eyes of people.

                                      Hi,
This complaint is regarding a driver's attittude to the commuters. The driver's duty is to open the doors as per the commuters request. All buses Volvo or ordinary ones open the door at BEL Circle signal stop.Since the signal takes time to go Green, usually everybdy gets down at red(since its a main stop and people have to go to different routes). But here this driver is too harsh & arrogant and picks up a fight with the commuters and adamant not to open the door at any cost. The Bus route is 276(KBS-Vidyaranyapura), No:- ka-01 fa 2272. The driver nameplate was missing but he's a plump fellow who takes up evening 6.30-7.00 route from KBS.This bus comes across BEL Circle around 7.00-7.30.
This driver needs strict warning from officials.Plz take due action for this complaint.I am posting this complaint as a representative for lots of people who has faced this situation.
