RBI guidelines not complied, nor Customer Interest --
[protected][protected][protected][protected]
I had deposited a cheque of Rs 1, 00, 000, drawn on HDFC Bank on November 2, 2020
The said cheque got returned on November, 3, 2020 with the remark required information
not legible.

It is informed, cheque was torn from date portion hence scanned copy of a cheque transmitted
to HDFC Bank without date portion, hence cheque was returned. Bank of India could have
contacted Payee or a drawer of a cheque, but nothing was done.

This cheque of Rs 1, 00, 000 was given to me as a token of deposit for Booking our Flat at
Ahmedabad, and we were to book another flat against this deposit money + some money from
our fund. Our Developer has increased booking rate by Rs 50/ per sq ft wef November 4 2020
and we shall have to bear the loss.

Sir, Initially I had complained against HDFC Bank, I received 4 emails, 5 telephone calls from
HDFC Bank, informing this is utter negligence on part of Bank of India, Ahmedabad but it is
regretted Bank of India has not even responded tomy multiple complaints, reminders

I have sought compensation of Rs 10, 000 from Bank of India which is just to control such utter
negligences in future, and Customers should not suffer financial loss

Said cheque was deposited at Gurukul Branch Ahmedabad, cheque got return on 3/11/2020
by HDFC Bank with the remark "Required information is not legible, " Fact of the issue is
cheque was folded at date/year portion hence that part was not legible
Response from HDFC Bank is as[protected]
Dear Sir,

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to address your concerns.
This is with reference to your email dated 25th November 2020 regarding cheque no.000057 of Rs.100000/- received at the office of Managing Director.

We wish to inform you that said cheque no.000057 of Rs.100000/- was presented by BANK OF INDIA (BOI). In the scanned cheque image received in clearing on 03rd November 2020 from BOI, cheque date on year part was folded and not clearly visible. Hence, the said cheque was returned with reason "required information not legible" which denotes that the cheque image is not clear and the presenting bank is supposed to represent it in next clearing cycle, which is not done from their end.

We have requested BOI to provide the scanned copy of cheque to you. We request you to take up this matter with the presenting bank(BANK OF INDIA) for the same as the cheque has been scanned from their end only.

Assuring you our best services.

Warm Regards,
Tejali M.
