Bata India — Inability of Bata stores to add customer GSTIN number in their tax invoices

I bought a footwear from Bata stores located at Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru on 25th June 21. The tax invoice no. of my purchased foot wear is CM[protected]. Having my own GSTIN number, I wanted the store to add my GSTIN to the invoice to enable me take the GST credit. The store was unable to add my GST no to the generated tax invoice and informed that their billing system has no means to incorporate customer GST no.
Today I called customer service to enquire why the store is unable to add the GSTIN number of the customer. Even the customer service representative was unable to answer my question and thereafter upon my insistence to receive an explanation, the representative took my mail id, invoice no. and GST number and informed that Bata will respond to my complaint.
I am very surprised that Bata while charging GST on its merchandise has no mechanism to incorporate the GSTIN of buyer. I will appreciate that Bata resolves this issue by adding my GSTIN to the generated tax invoice
