Bata India — Product and purchased on 12th , returned due to size issue, still waiting for a refund

My original complaint ticket id to Bata India is 457861.

I had purchased a shoe online from Bata website on 12th December 2022 by making full payment. Since the size did not fit, I called the call centre. They mentioned that I can go to any shop and get it exchanged. Upon asking what if they do not have the product, I was told that it will be the responsibility of the shop to arrange for it. I visited a Bata store and they asked me to visit a Hush Puppies store. I went there too and they said they can exchange it but I will have to pay additional Rs 2000 for the shoe for which I had already paid just for size difference. They used a term called mutation meaning different batch of processing. I informed them that I don’t need the shoe any more and want the money back. They said that I will have to apply online. I applied online from the shop itself and they told me that I cannot leave the shoe at the store and that it will be picked up. I waited for a few days and then again raised a query. Then after 2 complaints after 2 weeks someone came to collect the shoe. Now I am waiting since then to receive my money.

I had PAID for a pair of shoes on 12th Dec and after much trouble got the same picked up as it did not meet my size requirement and. Am yet to receive the refund.

Every time I raise a complaint or respond to the mail I receive an apologetic mail and then after 2 days the case is closed. How do they close a case unless the purpose for which the complaint has been initiated has been resolved . I have been only receiving mails stating that there has been a delay beyond their standard service time but the resolution is not provided.

I have been patiently writing and contacting the customer care but to no avail.

Can you please ask them to tell me when I will receive my refund. I would be grateful if someone can address the real concern here rather than writing flowery apologetic mails.

I have been using Hush Puppies for as long as I remember. For information during this time I have purchased a shoe from another brand and have already started using it. Bata-Hush Puppies did loose a customer.

I just need my refund and if will be a great help if you can fine Bata India for the harassment so that they mend their systems and other customers do not face this issue. I don’t need the fine money. Bata should be fined to provide free leather shoes to all the Government schools in Mumbai.

I’ll be happy if I get my refund.
