Bata India — Sport shoes

Sir, I have purchased a sports shoe from Bata India Ltd., P-1, CIT Road, Kolkata – 700054 on 25.10.2013 (Cash Memo No. 15/1/0013; Tel no.[protected] for my son for Rs. 1, 599/-. He has used it hardly for ten days but its pasting has worn off. We observed it in the second week of December, 2015 but we could not visit the shop due to his school schedule. We also had been out of station during the period from 23.12.2015 to 01.01.2016. We can produce documentary evidence in support of our visit to Rajasthan during the said period. We approached to outlet on 06.01.2016, but they have refused to give service stating that warranty period of sixty days is over. They charged Rs. 350/- for pasting, which I did not agree. Firstly, it is not expected that pasting would not work during this short period of time, at least from a reputed company. It is not known how such thing could happen in such season. If it is the condition, what will happen in the rainy season? Secondly, the outlet is so rigid to give guarantee/warranty, which we do not expect. If the shoe costs Rs. 1, 599/- how can pasting cost Rs. 350/- alone? Please do the needful at the earliest. Regards. Santanu Nandi. [protected], [protected]
