We painted our house with Berger paint. But quality is very poor. Paint peeled from wall after one week. I have informed the shop and berger representatives several times on time but no response and solutions.

Berger rep. visited our home and at last agreed to supply only the paint for rectifying the problems raised by us and reluctant to do the painting job.
As per berger representative the labor charges for doing the job need to be paid by us, as we have already paid the charges for the paint material and service in 2017 and not ready to pay it again.


MY ORIGINAL SUBMITTED COMPLAINT FOLLOWS:

My newly built home painting was done by Berger in June, 2017 and the condition of the exterior and interior got worsened after around 1 year and I had complained about this to the Berger representative in April 2019 and no action was taken then.
After repeated complaints to him and Berger customer team, their repr Mr Shihab and painting contractor Mr. Baiju visited in JULY 2019...and nothing has happened until today.

The compound wall is totally affected by the weather, bubbles are seen all over the area and formation of fungi and the white color of the wall became dark green, and in some areas the paint are totally washed away in the rain.
I have already reported this to Berger Repr. Mr Shihab and the contractor Mr Baiju and then contacted the customer care but, no response from their side yet.

Contrary to Berger claims in the advertisements the walls are completely devastated, and really in pathetic condition worse than the job done by a local painter with low quality paint.
I'm getting enormous pressure from my family and neighbors to repaint it soon.

Please clarify whether Berger company provides any guarantee for their product /service, or whether your responsibility completes once the job got completed... !!

Arising out of my deep faith in the quality of Berger Paints I entrusted with the works of painting of my flat upon Berger Paints Ltd. My request was confirmed on 5.10.2020 and accordingly, Mr. Suprabhat Das and Samiran Gharami were appointed as Customer Executive and Painting Contractor respectively by the Company and the job was identified as LD[protected] for Rs. 32782/-. My job was completed on 29.10.2020. The very next day(30.10.2020) I found to my great surprise that some swellings/blisters appear on lower part of an wall which are becoming bigger and bigger day after day. It is to be mentioned in this connection that high rate of charge was levied for this wall because it is highly damaged. The above facts were submitted as feedback report from customer, Berger Express Painting App and the Customer Executive and Painting Contractor were contacted again and again but no fruitful result. I am in deep shock and anxiety as my wall painting got damaged immediately after painting completed for a consideration of Rs. 32782/-.

Dear team,
We had applied burger long life paint at outside of our house. It has been only 4 year's we had applied the paint but now it has been found that bubbles are formed at the wall, and paint started removing.
So I kindly suggest you for required rectification.

I contact Berger Express painting to paint my flat with it as well as of waterproofing with berger dampstop from 2 Jan 2021. But the contractor didn't complete the work still 2 wall with texture band some part of roof need to paint. They took money and does not respond till now. Very frustrated with contractor and Berge executive Dhruv (Faridabad). Dhruv said he doesn't have the paint roller tool (texture tool) we opt for and can't help. You give extra money to someone else and opt for any other design.

I had contract with Berger Express painting, to paint my apartment with it as well as of waterproofing with berger dampstop. But the product didn't work properly I am seeing the dampness entirely in areas where they applied dampstop.

And the contractor didn't complete the work still 1 wall and some part of roof need to paint, it's been more than 1 month they took money and does not respond till now. Very frustrated with contractor and Berger Tirupati executive Somasekhar.

Please take necessary action and complete my work immediately.

Hello Dr Arun Khatavkar residing at Sunder Nagar Kalina Santacruz east Mumbai 400 098 entered in a painting contract of exterior and interior of my house with your Berger representative Mr Ram Bagwe. He introduced us to Mr Vikas Ingle as contractor whose associate was Mr Sashikant Jadhav. The initial payment done the work commenced on 16th November 2020. In one weeks work observation pattern I noticed a tremendous difference in the assurances given and work done. Every day a new worker is on site None of the workers maintained and wore protection gears during this Civil pandemic. At the end of the day the mess is left without cleaning. Last 7 days I am after them to clear the rabit but left at the house entrance. The sub contractor visits the site only once a day and then all is left to the workers with no supervision. I am surprised that no Berger representative visited the site inspite of repeated contacts with the concerned persons . I spoke with Mr Parab to explain the situation who said will get back in 10 minutes but ultimately I had to call him after waiting 24 hours who gave me the Contact of Mr Sagar Chougule and told me to contact him. This is a complete unprofessional approach of the team of Berger paint as a group and I am shocked of their functioning. I entered into agreement with Berger Paints via contractor Sougata Paul ( mob--[protected]/[protected]), on 16.11.19 to paint the inside walls of my flat at 10, Sitanath Banerjee lane, Flat no.-102, Block-E, Shibpur, Howrah-711103. The total consideration was Rs.57000.00, including Anti dampener Wall Shield . However, immediately after completion of the work, flaking out of paints from certain areas of wall was noticed. This was brought to the notice of the contractor on 29.11.19. He assured me that it will be taken care of in due course and full payment was made on 29.11.19 itself. However, till date nothing has been done, despite repeated reminders to the contractor.
I feel that i have been a fool to have made full payment, though it was the goodwill of your company that prompted me to do the same. I never thought that I would be duped by the contractor of a reputed company like yours.
I request you to look into the matter and arrange for prompt redressal.

1. After booking a complaint with Berger Paints, we are getting abusive phone calls from Murali (supervisor). He has instructed Vivek (executive) to call us and to mediate in the name of the company. Is it the way Berger handles the complaints of the customer?
2 We are told by Murali that Berger does not raise invoices. And till date we have not received the invoice. But he has collected more than the amount agreed upon. We like to get an official invoice and company receipts for all payments.
3 Murali and Vivek told us that they would come tomorrow to look into problem. Are they scheduled by the company? Please do not send Murali and his team again or his friends to repaint wherever the paint is peeling off and where required.
4. We can not entertain any more payments post complaint.

I had purchased 24 ltrs PU Roofkoat paint on 01/11/2020 & 05/11/2020

As per dealer advise, we had applied two coats of PU Roofkoat in 300sft.

After three days paint started peeling up.

I, saikat sengupta, of 10 sitanath banerjee lane, howrah 711103, entered into a contract with berger paints, through paintintig contractor, sougata paul on 16.11.2019, vide painting quotation no.-48062, for painting the inside walls of my flat. The said job was completed on 29.11.19 and full payment was made ( rs..57000 plus rs.1460 for wall shield anti dampener). However, within six months, from certain areas of the newly painted inside walls, paints started to peel out. I informed the contractor repeatedly over phone to resolve the matter but till date no action has been taken.Please arrange to address the problem as early as possible.

I had used Berger Paint products for my house's Interior, Exterior and furniture painting & polishing, to my surprise all the commitments and promises about the product the representative assured me was fallacious .
Within 6 months substantial portions of the painted and polished surface has shown MOLD Growth.

I am attaching few pictures depicting the paint & polish problems.

Even-though the paint work was a disaster, I still want to believe that Berger Paint will fulfil what it says in its motto "paint you imagination"

I was given an appointment at 3pm for site inspection for waterproofing service. I called the person named partha roy to confirm the time at 2 pm before leaving for the site. At 3.15pm, he called me to say that he will be slightly late, should be able to reach by 3.30pm. I called again at 4 when he didn't reach by then, & was told that he should be able to reach in ½ an hour which extended to 2 hours + but the person never turned up. My client waited for more than an hour and left. I kept calling the person but he didn't answer the phone. Finally when he answered the phone he informed that he will not be able to meet & disconnected. Post that did not take the call anymore.
Such unprofessional attitude and harassment is not tolerable. I am losing business for this callous behaviour. This is base before i start my work of interior decoration of the flat.
I lost precious time during this pandemic situation, traveling & standing the whole afternoon with no consideration. I would like redressal against my complain with a proper explanation. With this kind of client treatment, i am sceptical about referring the brand in future.

I had booked express painting service from berger paints on 1st august 2020 for my new flat. I got a message from berger that my request ld[protected] has been registered and it can be tracked on app which is available only for android users. I use an apple phone and don't have access to this app. After few days i got call from narasimha who came for site inspection. I gave him the color code and asked him to use same color and do a single coat painting as the builder had already given one coat. He said that we have to use bison emulsion as that is the one that has been used and other type of paint cannot be used. Next day he sent me quotation on paper with berger logo.in the quotation, he gave for both bison emulsion as well as easy clean. I confirmed with him if easy clean can be used on the existing paint and he said yes. I said that if that is the case, i am ready to go with easy clean as it is washable. I confirmed the job date for 26th august, 2020 and paid 8000 via google pay linked to his mobile number on 25th august 2020. Because i don't have the app and i had not contacted any other dealers/services, i assumed that narasimha is the person whom berger paints assigned to my job. I was moving in on 28th august 2020. Despite being busy, i had visited the site to check on the painting work. After first room itself, i had called narasimha to inform him that the job being done is not neat and color is also different. I told the painter also to do a neat job. But there was no change in the way the work was done. At around 5.15 pm, narasimha called me and said that i have to go to the site as work is done. I told him that i had left the flat half an hour before and there was a lot more to paint and also that the painting was very shabby. But he insisted that i visit the site. Upon reaching the site, i noticed that none of the corners were fixed with putty which i asked to be done as there was some damage during interiors work. And also painting in the kitchen didn't even start. The painter didn't even have an extra bucket to mix his paint. I told narasimha that he has to come to the site and check the work done as i was not satisfied with it. But the painter continued with his shabby work and narasimha was arguing with me on the phone. I told him that i don't want the painter to continue as he is doing a very bad job. Upon saying this narasimha demanded that i pay the remaining amount which is rupees 6322. I asked him for the bill and he said that nobody gives bill for painting. When i said i won't pay anything more than that was already paid, i was threatened by narasimha that he will complain on me in labor union. After a lot of heated conversation i paid the painter 2100 cash and asked him to leave. Later i have taken someone else's android phone and installed the app to actually check the paint job status. To my surprise, i saw that narasimha is not the person who is assigned for my job. The person actually assigned was maddi naveen. I immediately called him and asked him to visit the site. Upon visiting the site, naveen confirmed that he had sent narasimha. But the painting job is not undertaken by berger paints as i have requested for a single coat. None of this was informed to me at any point of time. Naveen said that he will get the job rectified. He sent another painter after 8 days who was again not from berger paints and set my request status in the app to "lost to competition". Upon asking him, naveen said that he will get the whole job rectified separately and i had to pay the remaining 4222 rupees as i had already paid narasimha 10100 (Google pay + cash). But because the painting is not being done by directly by berger paints, i said i want my money back as i was never informed about any of the terms or conditions or even called by naveen. I had completely lost my trust in the company. If i wanted to get it done from any painter, i would have gotten the entire job done at a much lesser price by purchasing the paint myself and hiring a local painter. I was not happy because i wanted a very neat job for my new home and that is why i approached a professional company like berger directly. I never said that i don't want a bill or don't want to pay gst. And to have everything smooth, i approached berger paints directly. Till date i have not received my money back. And i am having to spend double the amount for lesser quality paint to get the job rectified. Below are my complains: 1. The color used was different than the color requested for. 2. No bill 3. Berger paints executive did not call me until i called him and sent some unskilled person for site inspection 4. The terms and conditions like single coat not handled by company was not informed to me before the job started. 5. Easy clean colors are different than bison emulsion. 6. I have called berger paints helpline twice to raise a complain. But they did not even take my complain officially and i was asked to deal with naveen.

Iam a continous user of berger paint but now iam fully unsatisfied with the berger because it does not have a good covering i actually use 3 coat of paint but still the putty is getting highlighted... iam very much disappointed..

We painted the interior walls of our house using Berger paints last week. We selected Berger paints instead of Nippon paint because of its reputation of good quality and we thought we took the right decision.

However we were disappointed and shocked seeing the results. We could see white patches on the painted walls the very next day the painting was completed. This is really disappointing and we hope the Company will help us to rectify this.

I have used Berger Silk paint on the interior of my home and there are places where the dark and light colors can be seen and its making a very bad impression of the walls. Its uneven patching has ruined the experience with Berger. We have even raised the concern with Berger but there was no help provided from their side, Berger Executive - Mr. Raju visited the place and just blamed the painter for the issue.
I had a connect with other painters as well, but they clearly mentioned that its an issue with the paint and cannot be resolved without repainting. So I would request the Berger team to compensate for this or provide me with the correct paints to get this rectified asap.
