[Resolved]  Big Bazaar — Totally unacceptable behaviour from the store manager and malpractices.

Complaint related to Big Bazaar Store: Plot No- 3218, At/Po - Kiit, Maruti Mall, Patia, BHUBANESHWAR - 751024 Dear Team, This is related to the quality of food items that the above Big Bazaar outlet is selling to its customers and the store manager's denial of the same and the non attentive approach towards cutomer complaint. I am a regular customer to Big Bazaar and shop regulary for considerable amount every month from the above store. On early November 2013, I purchased the loose Hyderabadi Biriyiani rice which I usually purchase every month from the store regular consumption as usual. But this time when I opened the rice package after around 10-14 days of purchase, I found the rice is not of the same quality as I usually use to purchase for same amount a kilo. Moreover, the rice was totally full of dust, old and pest infected. So then and there, I came back to the store with my concern along with the rice package with the store bar code sticker on it. To my utter surprise, the store manager Mr. Singh refused to accept my complaint and in turn accused me of infecting the rice with pest and coming back to him for exchange! My only request to him was I didn't want a replacement or a money return against that, the only thing I wanted to show him was the quality of the food item that the store is selling to its customers, I also told him when you're seeing I'm a regular customer and shops every month for considerable amounts from your store what the difference a small refund amount would make to me, so its all about the quality of the food items which I am concerned with. But he refused to listen or entertain anything and behaved very rudely about it. Finally, after a lot of arguments, he took the packet of rice from and told that it will be sent to the vendor and invenstigated, and assured me that I will shortly receivce from the store regarding a follow up of my complaint. Its been more than two months since then, and I still haven't receive any call regarding the same. Two weeks back on a visit to the store, I asked about the status of my complaint but he ignored the same. Off late, on a yerterday's (Jan 12, 2014) visit to the store with my wife, on entrance there was a male security personnel and the Manager Mr. Singh was standing, when the Male security person demanded to frisk the handbag of my wife. When she demanded that be checked by a female security personnel, the manager again behaved rudely which is totally embarrassing for a Lady and uncalled for! When I spoke about making a complaint with future group H.O. about this malpractices, he was unfazed!! I had no other option but to lodge a complaint here for the treatment this store is giving to its customers. Please help customers like me who are at the mercy of this kind of store management that your organization is offering. Regards, Souren Kundu
