BookMyShow — Refund Denied Despite Inaccessibility to Cinema Due to Road Block and Lack of Support

I had booked two movie tickets for Sitaare Zameen Par on 21st June, 2025 at 10:00 PM at PVR: Soul Spirit Central Mall, Bellandur, Bengaluru through BookMyShow.
On the day of the show, I was traveling by car, but the main road leading to the cinema hall was completely blocked due to ongoing road construction. There was no information about alternate parking or access arrangements, and despite repeated efforts, I could not reach the venue.
I also tried calling the cinema hall’s contact number listed online, but it was unreachable throughout, leaving me with no means of communication or assistance.

Despite explaining this situation to the customer support team and requesting a refund, I was told that refunds are only allowed if cancellations are made 30 minutes before the show. This rigid policy does not take into account genuine and unavoidable circumstances like road blockages due to construction — something completely outside the customer’s control.

I believe this is an unfair business practice and a denial of consumer rights. I am seeking a full refund for the two tickets and expect the cinema or booking platform to acknowledge the exceptional nature of the situation.
