I had booked two movie tickets for Sitaare Zameen Par on 21st June, 2025 at 10:00 PM at PVR: Soul Spirit Central Mall, Bellandur, Bengaluru through BookMyShow.

Request for action for harassment caused due to booking for fake event

Incident Details:
I booked a ticket on Book my show for a “Fast Matchup” event which was supposed to be held on May 24th from 5:30 PM onwards.

Amount paid: Rs 1190.86

The venue provided was that of a Public metro station in Bangalore- “Rajaji Nagar Metro”.
I reached the venue on time and have found no such event or anybody from the organiser or...

False advertising

I had booked tickets via bookmyshow for show called Sagar waali Qawwali at NSCI dome on 14 Jun 25 from 7.00pm. The tickets advertised Sagar waali qawwali and did not mention anywhere that the qawwali show will start at 10.00pm.

The show slated for 11/april was cancelled last minute, with no intimation provided to customers. we were amongst the many customers who braved the bombay traffic on a friday evening to make it to the venue only to be told by the security that there was no show. after multiple attempts at 'chatting' with the AI bots on their app, because of course they don't think it wise to invest in a human and responsive customer service process, i am still to recieve any intimation of when i can expect a refund - three weeks later and still wondering with complete silence from the bookmyshow team. appalling!

      I had booked my tickets through BookMyShow. Upon reaching the venue C21, Indore, I was denied entry despite having a valid ticket. The venue staff informed me that they had no record of my booking or that the ticket was invalid due to reasons beyond my control.

      This situation caused severe inconvenience, financial loss, and emotional distress as I had planned my schedule around this event and spent money on travel and other related expenses.

        I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against BookMyShow regarding a severe case of miscommunication, inconvenience, and financial loss caused by their customer support team.

        On Feb 7 2025, I contacted BookMyShow’s customer service to confirm if I could collect my tickets for the event on the 9th of afeb 2025 one day earlier, on the 8th. I was assured by their team that I would be able to collect my tickets at the venue on the 8th. Based on this confirmation, I traveled for 7 hours to the venue, incurring significant travel costs.

        Upon arrival, I was informed by the venue staff that tickets could not be collected that day and that I would have to return the next day. This was a clear case of miscommunication from BookMyShow’s customer support, which caused me unnecessary hardship and expenses.

        When I contacted customer support again, my experience worsened:
        • A representative named Manishdisconnected the conversation abruptly without allowing me to explain the situation.
        • I was then connected to another representative named Vaishnavi, to whom I requested compensation for my expenses or an upgrade as a reasonable resolution for their mistake. I was assured that the matter would be escalated, and a manager would call me immediately. However, I waited for more than 30 minutes, and no one contacted me.
        I have made reasonable attempts to resolve this issue directly with BookMyShow, but I have not received any resolution or even a response. I am seeking:
        1. Compensation for the travel expenses I incurred due to their miscommunication.
        2. A formal apology for the inconvenience caused.
        3. Immediate corrective action and accountability to ensure this does not happen again.
        Attached to this complaint are relevant screenshots of the conversation and contact details. I request that this matter be addressed urgently. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution, I will escalate this further through consumer courts.

          I have Play credit card which offers Rs. 500 off every month for movie tickets. I could not avail this offer from October as there is fault from Bookmyshow and they accepted it. They said that as compensation they will give Rs. 500 as bms cash on 08.11.2024 and mentioned that I will get the voucher by 24 to 48 hours i.e. 10.11.2024.
          But today is 13.11.2024, still I didn't receive the voucher. Also I want to mention they don't respond to mail properly. I have to raise the issue in social media, only then they reply.
          They are saying everyday that I will recieve the voucher but I didn't.

          Last time at the time of conversation regarding offer issue, they said that they will send mail as confirmation of issuing bms voucher and by that time they've asked how much I will rate them from 1 to 5 where 1 is low and 5 is high. I told that it is 5. After cutting the call, I realised that they didn't send mail regarding voucher. They just need the rating, not doing proper work

            I booked a trek to Skandagiri on BookMyShow for 3 persons(including myself) on 13th August, 2024 which was arranged by Sanchari. It got cancelled due to government order banning trek at that site for 2 months(thats what Sanchaari people told), hence I want
            refund.
            I contacted BookMyShow and Sanchari multiple times. They assured full refund in a week but its almost a month. Besides the attached screenshots, I requested them on call multiple times. I am fed up with their customer service now.

              Booked tickets for 11th May Sonu Nigam show from @bookmyshow . The show's start time was 6.30pm. It was open air and it started raining heavily around 7pm (show hadn't started). It rained heavily for 45 mins, we were drenched and had to leave ! We are denied a refund, is it fair?

                BookMyShow company is cheating the customers where they are showing different price before payment and after payment.
                I have booked the ticked to the movie named Tillu square (Telugu)movie where while at the selection page the price per ticket was showing as 280rs and I have booked 2 tickets it should have been 560rs but at the payment page where they have charged me 600rs and GST.. they are looting consumers

                  It has been OVER A MONTH and I have still not received my refund from BookMyShow for an event cancellation (SPXCE Festival)
                  I got an e-mail from the company that they have initiated my refund on 29th Feb'24 but nothing has been received.
                  I have shared my bank statements, invoice for the event with their customer support team and yet, no response has been recorded.

                  I have never seen such an unprofessional and unethical behavior before and they must be sued!

                        Hello,

                        I booked a ticket for a movie on 1st March for movie "Man Yedyagat Zala" which cost me 316.68 Rs. The ticket amount was 260rs for 2 tickets + the filmy pass. The show was cancelled at the theater. So, the theater informed me that the amount will be returned within 7days, which was not returned on time. After contacting the bookmyshow support team for 2 weeks and contacting the theater regularly it was done. The 7days or 48hrs return policy was not followed by the BookMyShow no proper response was been given to me, same old lines it will take 24hrs and nothing was done.

                        After many calls and chats the money was been refunded to me which was 217.68 Rs and on the application it showed 292.68 Rs. Where else i paid 316.68 Rs.
                        The paid amount was different the refunded amount showed on the application is different and the amount received is different. Even if i got discount the amount that was supposed to be refunded for 2 tickets should be 260 as per the theater ticket price. Which was not done.
                        Please look into this and help me out.

                          I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the recent experience I had at your theater, Cinemart RC Puram, on 24th February 2024. I had booked two tickets for the 7:35 PM showing at your theater through the platform BookMyShow.com. However, upon traveling over 15 kilometers through heavy traffic to reach the theater, I was informed that the movie had been canceled.

                          What exacerbates the situation is the lack of proper communication and accountability demonstrated by your staff and management. Despite engaging in a 45-minute discussion with your staff, led by Manager Anand, there was no satisfactory explanation provided for the abrupt cancellation of the movie. Furthermore, while assurances were given that the ticket amount would be refunded, there has been a notable absence of communication from either the theater or BookMyShow.com regarding the refund process

                          To rectify this situation and prevent similar incidents in the future, I urge you to take the following actions:

                          1. Provide a formal apology for the inconvenience caused and the lack of communication regarding the movie cancellation.
                          2. Ensure prompt and transparent communication with customers regarding any changes or cancellations of scheduled screenings.
                          3. Offer appropriate compensation for the time and expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation, including reimbursement for travel costs and ticket prices.
                          4. Implement measures to improve customer service, including staff training on effective communication and handling o[censored]nexpected situations.

                          Sent the above communication and followup in couple of emails, but no response except the refund.

                          I need resolution such as Provision of compensatory measures commensurate with the temporal and financial expenses incurred, inclusive of the round trip distance of 30 kilometers, entailing significant travel expenditures and time commitment. This encompasses the substantial inconvenience endured consequent to traversing the distance amidst heavy traffic, only to encounter the cancellation upon arrival, necessitating an additional 15 kilometers on the return journey.

                            I have booked movie ticket through bookmyshow app on 11th Feb 2024 but show was cancelled due to some technical issue, theatre management said they will refund next day through bookmyshow app, today is 20th feb 2024 till now bookmyshow not refunded amount, i have followed up with them 4times, every time they ask what is the issue and ask me to contact after 72 hrs this is repeating, so kindly resolve issue.
