I have applied for a home loan at Canfin Home loan – Nehru Place Delhi Branch on 26th Aug’14 and at the time of application assurance was been given by the Manger that my loan sanction time would max take 15-20 days. They have taken 2 cheques from us one of INR 26967 (Processing fee) INR 2000 (Advocate/valuer free) you will be surprised to know both the cheque got cleared the very next day and its been almost 1month 10 days we have not got any update on our loan status. Today when I contacted the Branch Manager he told me there was some problem with the map plan and loan cant be sanctioned. When I asked him to refund the processing fee he mentioned you will only get a part of that and for that you need to contact the head office. When I asked why part of it? His reply was from this we pay to the valuer and our employee who visited your property.
I would like to understand firstly how can a bank charge the processing fee when loan has not been processed and got rejected. Secondly when they have already taken a cheque of INR 2000 as valuer then why again and why we have to pay to the employee?? Is Canfin not paying salary to their employee?? Is it not part of their job??
