Canon India — service fees incorrectly charged

Hello sir,

This complaint is regarding the canon 1300d camera, which i bought less than a 6 months ago.

There was a power problem in the camera noticed, so i took it my nearest canon service center in moradabad. The people at the center informed that they are just a collection center and your camera will go to lucknow service center for repair, therefore i submitted my camera and it took more than a week to hear back from them and that too when i called them to enquire.

Now the report from lucknow service (Hitech care) came that there is no defect in the camera, and it is working fine. Hence, it was delivered back to me but when i received it the camera was still not working as it will not switch on.

So, i called up at lucknow service center to discuss about the feedback they provided that camera is working fine, but the problem still persisted.
Now, the lucknow service center representative suggests me to go to delhi service center as it is india's master service center and show the same problem there.

Now, taking my day off, i travel to delhi service center and let them know the whole issue and they assure me that camera will be repaired in near one week of time under warranty and we will call you back once done.

After two days, i receive a phone call that there is water lock problem in your camera and you will be charged 1905 inr to get it repaired. I disagreed with them as there has been no exposure of water from my side to the camera.
But even upon my disagreement they went ahead and gave the internal clearance that customer agreed to get it repaired under non warranty and ready to pay the asked amount.

And above that lucknow service center guys gave the report as camera is working, it means they never checked it and gave the report or they have done something wrong to the camera and suggested me to go the delhi branch.

I made a multiple calls to canon customer service executive, but they are not ready to understand instead they say you have to pay the said amount and then only get the camera back.

Now my question is if the waterlock problem was there in the camera then how on earth the lucknow service folks gave a report that it has been working fine, because the camera was not working neither before submitting to lucknow service center nor after it was delivered back to me with a positive report.

This is totally unacceptable and very disappointing too from a big company like canon that they are not ready do the inquiry internally instead wrongly charge their customers.

I request you to please look into the matter and have this sort out so that i can start using my camera as my daily work is getting effected without camera.

I believe this amount is being incorrectly charged from me.
