I wanted to sell my cars through them and I had registered with them for the same purpose.
I had the car inspection done at their Aranyeshwar Road Branch in Pune. My relationship Manager assigned was Mr. Soumya Rahod, +[protected].
I have a hypothucation on the Car and I Had to get an NOC letter from the bank that I could sell the car and make good they payment to the bank directly through Cars 24. The said letter on the appointed day came from the bank late and the date to complete the payment was EOD which I thought Cars 24 may not be able to fulfill. However I sent the letter to Soumya ( soumya.[protected]@cars24.com) and asked him if they could process the transaction. I got norevert for that mail nor did he answer my calls after saying he will revert in 20 minutes.He didn;t reply to me text of the 1 Dec too about the transaction and on 4th Dec I went to the showroom, met Rashid Sheik and confirmed to him on the mail the discussion I had with Rashid Sheik saying that the RC can be with Cars 24 and and since I had to travel to Bangalore, we could re-aution the car on my return and the token I was paid will be adjusted in the new transaction after the 15th December on my return from Bangalore.
The next thing I receieve a message from Cars 24 that they will take legal action if I do not pay the fine of Rs5000+ Rs.1000/- token they paid.
There are a few message exchanges after that with Soumya and after a point he just refused to respond.
I did on my return come back and put it for re-auction as they had suggested. They inspected the car again and all this is available on record. Rashid Sheik called me back saying they have received an offer which I could accept and go through with the transaction.
I told him to please fetch me the same price as in the earlier auction, to which he said he will check and revert.
SOme body else called my a couple of days later and talked about the same lower offer(New Price) to him I said Rashid has alaready confirmed he will give me the new price and he needs to await some confirmation from HO since the procedure has changed for cars in Settlement cases...HE didn;t call back and their numbers are forever busy to get through. I received another call from one Rekha Cars 24 Mumbai and said her channel partner is interested in the car and asked if I would like to sell the car. I said I am in touch with Rashid and he has promised to revert and confirm and that I'm just waiting to hear from him. She hung up saying she will ask him to call back. Rashid never called and I couldn't make contact and I had to visit the store again to check on how this transaction was going through.
I Was informed that the policy has changed w.r.t "Settlement cases" and they don;t do it any more and hence they will not be able to process the transaction. I Said give me my RC book and let me go. They said the RC is in the local HO in Baner, Pune and they will call for the same but I Will have to make good the payment of Rs.6000/- to cars 24. I said I'm not cancelling the deal, it's Cars 24 who is cancelling the deal and it's not fair for me to pay the fine.
Then I reluctantly agreed to pay and collect the RC book since I realised I was dealing with insensitive people of the company who are just inclined to follow like sheep in the name of Company Policy etc. no one attempted to escalate and resolve the matter. Then my ordeal for following up for the physical copy of my RC book began and I resumed follow up with Soumya since the Branch guys said he is transferred to Chinchwad and since he knows the case history I have to deal with him only. As usual that man is too busy to return any calls nor does he answer calls. I proved in front of the new manager and Rashid that Soumya doesn;t answer my calls and the new manageer had to make a call before Soumya came on the call to talk to me. He promised he will arrange the RC book to be brought o the branch in Aranyeshwar Road, Pune and I could pay the Rs.6000/- through an online link that will be generated in my presence and I could pay.
I have been following up and I had a messaage that the RC would be at the branch office by Yesterday evening i.e. 23rd January 2021. I texted Soumya gain for a confirmation so that my trip all the way is not wasted. I didn;t get any reply and I did undertake the trip all the way to the branch again only to find to my dismay that the RC book wasn;t there and the guys at the bank casually said "usko phone karo"
I'm applaed at the attitude of your staff and this made me furious - I'm not making a deal with Soumya but Cars24 as a company and I refuse to follow up with an irresponsible employee anymore. They made the call and again said he's on the line please speak to him.. I refused. I said you do whatever talking you need to do and I Do not wish to talk to someone who doesn't have the decency to return my calls or reply to my messages.
The new manager at the branch took my number and said he will call me once the RC is received and I Could come back and pay the money online and take the RC book.
Again to my surprise I receive a link asking me to pay the money now. No mention of the RC - It was a system generated message I think with out any possibility to edit.
However why was the payment request generated without the RC?
I had agreed to pay and collect it but with all this tamasha now I refuse to pay the Fine of Rs.5000/- since Cars24 turned down the deal because of the policy change and demand that my RC be returned.
I also insist that somebody really senior in the company call and speak to me and arrange physical possession of my RC Book forthwith.
