Sir, I am Sri Swapan Kumar Majumder of 139, Nagendranath Road, Satgachi, Natun Pally, Dumdum, Kolkata-28, received one SMS from CESC LTD which says RS. 3890 is my electric bill for August 2014 and unit is 509. I am very much surprised to see this because it is not only exorbitant but also absurd. My average bill for every month runs 120 units to 140 units. In any way it cannot be 509 units. I have no AC machine in my house. I have 3 ceiling fans and use 2 ceiling fans at a time. I have 1 chimney. I have 1 refrigerator which runs 24 hours. I do not have any social gathering or function in the last 1 year. I am giving below the meter reading of last 6 months. Meter no. /Month meter reading Unit Charges Previous Present 3877142/March[protected].56 April[protected].56 May[protected]C 1173.60 June[protected].44 July[protected].56 August[protected] My today’s (19/09/2014) meter reading is 4766 for 14 days only because last meter reading date of your bill for August 2014 is 5/09/14. It is clearly indicating that the meter is showing wrong figure. Please arrange to check the meter immediately so that the problem can be solved right now. I am not a defaulter in payment. You could not find any month where I became defaulter and not paid the bill. But in this occasion I cannot pay the bill till the fault is detected. Thanking you.
