We Sadhana Bhagat (Member) & Omkar Mahimkar (Co-Member) member of Club Mahindra since Tue, 16th Dec, 2014. Our Membership No: 2608267, Purple - Studio, There is no EMI Due (We paid our last EMI on 7th March 2023) on our account. ASF is already paid and the due date is 21st October 2023. Please find attached all screenshots & Tax sheet for reference/ Knowledge.
Now the complaint is we are blocked on Club Mahindra App and on Website from booking our holidays. Since Blocking was not informed by club mahindra through any SMS, E-mail, Telephonic conversation or notification, we felt it's unethical because we were planning a holiday with them and luckily the days were available on the booking system. As per the app we were unable to book a holiday because of EMI payment overdue. As mentioned above our all EMIs are already paid. So we called customer care service and got to know that Club Mahindra is blackmailing us to pay Retro Tax on EMI's due (8438.21/-) from[protected]. and this was not their 1st time.
1st time: We got to know about it at the end of 17the Dec 2021 when we were paying our EMI's manually on the club mahindra app because club mahindra couldn't continue auto payment of EMI through credit card and there was an interesting foreclosure offer Principal + Tax Due: Rs. 94, 815 /, Discount: Rs. 7, 111 /-, Amount payable after discount : Rs. 87, 704 /-, Offers applicable on foreclosure : 7, 500 RCP ( Resort Credit Points). We were interested in closing our account instead of paying it manually every month. But Ayush Kataria (Member Experience Management) Said if we would like to go for foreclosure we will have to pay tax (This was the 1st time Club mahindra black mailed us to pay taxes and did not allow us to close our EMI account) We were about to pay those taxes but when we saw the tax sheet shared by Club Mahindra we noticed that tax is different in each and every month. We were wondering how come our Government is changing tax each and every month. And started looking for complaints about the same issue on the internet. Yes, there are so many complaints but I found zero explanation about it. I started asking questions to Club Mahindra customer care service. They are still not able to give an explanation about it. They have only one robotic answer that is "Past Tax Dues and customers will have to pay." (We have all the calls recorded). In fact we tried to reach out to Club Mahindra Relationship Managers a few times when we were on holiday at Club Mahindra resorts. Their response was to "be patient and we will get back to you". Which never happened. And we decided to pay for it.
2nd time: In May 2023 we wanted to pay ASF (Annual Subscription Fee) in advance. While processing the payment This tax was mandatory to pay with ASF amount/ it was not optional.As usual I got in touch with the customer care center and they were helpless/ were not able to answer me questions. I am sure the Indian Government/ RBI must have a law that no one can put conditions on foreclosure on any loan/ EMIs/ ASF payments.
3rd Time: Since I was paying ASF in advance we thought we have time till the due date of ASF 21st October 2023 to deal with this situation, Club Mahindra was one step ahead o[censored]s. on 4th July 2023 we were planning a holiday with Club Mahindra and luckily the days were available on the booking system. As per the app we were unable to book a holiday because of EMI payment overdue, Insted Past tax due (8438.21/-).
But when we upgraded our membership from Red to Purple on 08th April 2021, the Club Mahindra Relationship Managers at Sherwood Mahabaleshwar did not mention anything about any tax due to us. Why did Club Mahindra not block us at that time from buying this Purple membership?
When tax changes happened (As per the sheet shared by Club Mahindra 07th June 2015 to 07th February 2020) (In Previous mail written by Anjali Kanojia the tax change period between 2014 and 2017. Club Mahindra RM are also not sure about the duration and why Club Mahindra never charged the Tax to customers in the year 2014 to 2021/ 7 years) Club Mahindra never informed us through SMS, E-mail, Telephonic conversation or notification. In that period was club mahindra doing a favour on us (customers) by paying our taxes? WHY? We only got to know about it at the end of 2021. It was an un-informed business & we are not going to pay it. Not even 50% of it.
As mentioned above, many times we complained about this to Club Mahindra on Customer care Service (Email & on call center), Club Mahindra Relationship Managers a few times when we were on holiday at Club Mahindra resorts & On Social Media (Twitter). We are still blocked on Club Mahindra App and on Website from booking our holidays after paying 8-10 Lakhs of membership fees & ASF. We will make sure Club Mahindra will pay for the harassment they did, the wastage of time & energy on call center & with RMs, the offers we lost we were getting on foreclosure & the blocking period (The holidays we were planning to book with Club Mahindra at the blocking period).
