During heavy rains the main UGD gets clogged due to slush and waste dumping by a few eateries near Maruthi Lodge.
As a result the rain water and the sweage waste water comes into the houses through the UGD pipelines.
The UGD main line is almost 6-7 decades old and the diameter is less. This has been laid in accordance to the population of the said period. Now the same old pipe which cannot intake the flow of the waste water from the houses, resulting in frequent blockages.
We understand that the replacement of the UGD main pipeline has already been sanctioned in the recent past, but still pending for execution.
Hope the Coimbatore Corporation understands the seriousness of this problem as it amounts to health issues due to the waste flowing back into the houses and replace the pipeline with a higher diameter / capacity one.
